If there’s one thing I admire about artists, who make good money from their art, it’s when they spend said money on a good cause. There are more than enough people in this world less fortunate than me, and there are certainly a lot of people less fortunate than artists who make their money by doing something as banal as playing songs.
Swiss Hard Rock legends Krokus decided to support Switzerland’s charity event ‘Jeder Rappen zählt’ (eng. ‘Every Rappen counts,’ Rappen being the Swiss equivalent of a Cent).
Make the jump and read what Chris Von Rohr, Krokus bassist, had to say about this.
“The suffering of millions of kids on this planet (every day more than 50,000 deaths due to hunger and sickness) is ultimately a failure on our part! Children are our future and all of us have a responsibility to come up with ways to help and support more than ever the ones that are incapable of helping themselves, the weakest of this world — each one of us in their own unique way!
We would like to take this opportunity and thank all of you that made this an unbelievable year for Krokus — your loyalty and your heartfelt support are much appreciated! Krokus wish you a graceful, peaceful and happy holiday celebration — a wham baba luba bam boom!”
– Chris Von Rohr
Von Rohr, on behalf of the whole band, donated the platinum record award, they were presented earlier this year for their latest album ‘Hoodoo,’ which was auctioned off for a good cause in support of kids in Africa.
