The Haunted Unseen

Thrash titans, The Haunted, have revealed the new title for their forthcoming album, as being Unseen.

Unseen is the seventh album and scheduled for release in March. In addition, if you live in Sweden and fancy catching the band live, you can see them perform at the “P3 Guld” (Swedish radio’s annual music awards) live awards ceremony broadcast on January 22, 2011 from Lisebergshallen in Gothenburg, Sweden. I’ve seen the band twice now and I’d highly recommend checking them out.

Max Cavalera… Sepultura… yawn…

This got old three weeks ago. Max Cavalera, of Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy, formerly of Sepultura, still talks about reuniting with Sepultura, even though they made it clear that they don’t want to reunite with him and that they just want him to stop talking “bullshit”.

Two weeks ago, Mr. Cavalera talked about the reunion and that was just a couple of days after Sep posted their statement. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn’t see, read or hear their statement at the time. As of right now, someone in his camp surely should have told him about it, right? Well, it doesn’t seem so, because he still talks about it;

“People are asking me about this reunion thing. I’ve said many times before that I’d like to do it and I don’t even need to do it because both of my bands are doing really good — Cavalera Conspiracy and Soulfly are doing so good that I don’t even need a Sepultura reunion for my life. But I’d like to do it for the fans because they’re asking for it so much.”

Eh, I don’t have to add anything to that, do I? I will just say this: this is my last article about this ‘reunion’ debacle, unless it turns into a huge bitchfight, because I already almost fell asleep during writing this, I can’t imagine how you must feel.

2011: The albums to watch out for (Pt. 1)

So as 2010 comes to an end, we all forget the mistakes of the past year, the dodgy synth driven pop albums of aged Nu-Metal acts, the mediocre drivel released by once good bands,  and now look forwards to the promised releases of the forthcoming year. Will the albums be as brilliant as promised, or will they flop quicker than my penis after I see Lady Gaga on TV? Time will tell.

So which albums should you watch out for in 2011? Read on after the jump to find out.

Rob Zombie needs more money

It seems that, once again, Rob Zombie‘s cash is getting pretty low. Why else would the alleged “musician,” not being contempt just releasing crappy new albums and crappy films, now also be set to release some crappy coffee?

Like coffee? Then don’t bother drinking your fancy-pants Golden Blend hardcore ultra strong organic coffee, just drink some of “Rob Zombie‘s Hellbilly Brew.” Yeah, sounds just lovely…

Promoters to make concerts ‘more affordable’

2010 was apparently a disasterous year for the concert industry, with many popular acts having to cancel and/or postpone tours due to poor sales. The poor sales have been attributed to the high cost of many concerts in what has been a difficult year for the economy. According to the report I’m stealing this news from, A Perfect Circle were selling tickets for as much as $200, which let’s face it, is down right ridiculous. If I wanted to have a good sleep, I could pick up some sleeping pills from the pharmacy for $10.

Because of the poor sales, promoters are claiming that they will be making concerts more affordable in 2011. So good news for all you fellow concert go-ers. That is unless you’re Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber fans, as those “artists” will still have their concerts sold at the same prices, because their fans are gullible  enough to pay the extortionate costs.
