Darkest Hour and Veil of Maya kicked off their tour bus
Who and huh kicked off the what? Yeah, apparently Darkest Hour and Veil of Maya are too cool for school, and party too hard to stay on the bus, so one angry bus driver decided to teach them a lesson by kicking them off of it. He’s not very good at teaching lessons, though, because he kicked them near the venue they were playing at, so the band decided to continue drinking there. Rock’n’roll motherfuckers. View a photo of the band “partying” after the jump.
At The Gates head for Metaltown
Yup, the Swedish legends, At The Gates, are back (again) and have been confirmed for next year’s edition of the Metaltown festival, set to take place June 17-18, 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The band loved their brief reunion in 2008 so much that they’ve decided to play a few more shows next year. Of course, if they love it so much, they could always reunite for real…
Anyways, the bill for Metaltown 2011 so far contains System of a Down, At the Gates, Cradle of Filth, Parkway Drive, and Raubtier. So at least now there’s one band to look forward to.
Ki$$ star in Family Guy
Believe it or not, Kiss and Family Guy both have a lot in common. Neither have been any good for about a million years, and hence why they’ve probably teamed up for a Christmas special.
Despite being posted on Blabbermouth, this isn’t actually news. A Very Special Family Guy Freakin’ Christmas actually first aired in 2001 in Season 3 (back when Family Guy didn’t suck so much – but unfortunately Kiss still did). If you never saw the episode though, or fancy watching it again , check it out on Cartoon Network tonight at 11:00 p.m. EST.
Motorsamples
As you may know, killer-wart Lemmy and his Motörheads are going to release their 20th studio album, ‘The Wörld is Yours,’ in just a couple of days.
Now, I’m not sure if it leaked yet but if you haven’t illegally downloaded said album yet, you can hear samples of all the song on the German Amazon. You know the deal, scroll down and click the play buttons to hear the samples. If you didn’t know that already, turn off your computer right now and wait until the album is released on vinyl.
Map of Metal
Have you ever felt lost when it comes to all the genres and subgenres in metal? Never knew the difference between Traditional Doom Metal and Blackened Death Metal? Haha, you suck.
But, Dose of Metal to the rescue. An awesomely named site, Map of Metal, is there to help you out with any doubts you have about a certain genre or historic aspects of metal, using an (you might have guessed it) interactive map in the process. Everything is clickable, every genre has a bunch of example songs, and the site opens with Black Sabbath playing. What else could you wish for? So, make sure to check it out right here.
