Scott Ian: ‘touring is hard’
According to a recent interview with Anthrax guitarist, Scott Ian, conducted by Attention Deficit Delirium, the hardest thing, both physically and mentally, for the band is touring. That’s odd, because I would have thought that finding a singer was harder, since they’ve had about 50 million already. Or possibly even getting that racoon taped to Scott’s chin to stay in place whilst he headbangs. But what do I know?
The interview and more information can be found over at Blabbermouth.
Interview: Jokull (Disintegrated)
Recently I’ve been in talks with Jökull of Disintegrated, a Danish Death Metal band who contacted us via our ‘Your Band’ campaign. If you’re in a band and you want your band to be featured on this spectacular website, contact us here.
Check out my interview with Jökull after the jump, where you can also find a teaser of their new EP and a link to download that very EP, ‘This is Art’.
Rob Halford knows his shit
If you thought the only things Rob Halford was knowledgeable on are music, ageing with grace, and NASCAR, then you are wrong. Because the Metal legend also knows his sports shit. Well so I’ve been told anyways.
According to Blabbermouth, Rob recently talked with TheScore.com to discuss his other passion, sports. The Judas Priest frontman is an avid baseball and basketball fan, and is also developing a taste for hockey, saying the sport’s balls-out style reminds him of rock and roll. And of course, Rob is a great fan of balls being out.
Guitar Hero wimpy warriors
Just in time for Christmas, Activision Publishing Inc have announced that new tracks from both Linkin Park and Kiss have been added to the Guitar Hero: Warriors Of Rock game.
I presumed this may be a mistake since the game isn’t called mediocres of pop, but sadly I was wrong. The new Linkin Park tracks will of course be a welcome addition to noobs of the game though, as most will only require the player to press one button through the tracks at a steady 100 bpm.
If mediocre pop bands are your thing though, get your info fix here.
Some headlines, yo
Whitesnake (pictured above) have a new album in the works. It’s called “Forevermore” and David Coverdale had this to say about the title: “Don’t forget, ’tis ONE word.” It’s pretty hard not to forget that, David, as I don’t really care and neither does most of the world.
Joey Jordison is on the cover of Rhythm Magazine and you can get it here. I know what you’re asking yourself: Should I get it? Well, aside from an in-depth look at his gear, Joey also talks about his many projects. In other words, no, no you shouldn’t.
The Damned Things‘ debut album sold 6,200 copies in the United States in the first week of release. It’s apparently #1 on the Top New Artist Albums chart which means out of all of the noobs, they’re the best selling. Not bad for a band with members of Fall Out Boy in it.
Pantera and Damageplan roadie John Graham tells his story working with Dime in both of his bands, as well as being a roommate with Vinnie and other stuff. Read interview here.
