They say you learn something new every day, which is completely true. Now, take a word of advice from me, it’s not always a good thing. I learned something today, and I had to watch a Rhapsody video because of it. *queue symphonic power metal joke*
Having said that, I leave it up to you to make the decision, if you want to take the risk, make the jump and deal with the consequences.
First of all, did you know Rhapsody actually changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire? I didn’t, but it’s not like I give a shit. Needless to say, if you read the post title, you can figure out what we’re dealing today, another metal connection trivia. This one is kind of different though, because the person named is directly involved with metal. Earlier today I came along a piece of information about a Rhapsody track featuring actor Christopher Lee. If the name doesn’t ring a bell (no, not you dragon riders, I’m talking to the normal folks), it’s fucking Saruman, baby (now I’m talking to you). You know, the character from Lord of the Rings?
I guess this collaboration makes some sense, I mean, Lee was in Lord of the Rings, and Rhapsody spend every living moment of their lives wishing they actually lived in Middle Earth. The real trivia, though, is that Cristopher Lee actually had his first album come out in 2006 (at age 84), titled Revelation, and one of the songs was a heavy metal tune sung in French. You can see the making of video below:
He must have liked it a lot, since he released a concept symphonic heavy metal album last year, titled Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross, and plans on releasing a sequel this year. Awesome, right?
That’s it. I know what some of you must be thinking, this is barely a properly worded piece of text, let alone a trivia article, but it was new to me, so it’s all cool. I mean what are you gonna do, throw your Dungeons & Dragons dice at me?
One final thing though, I promised you you’d be taking a risk when you made the jump. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, the one, the only, Don motherfucking Johnson!
