David Ellefstarbucks

Yes, I know it’s a dumb title, but what do you want from me? This isn’t the fucking Oxford blog, so insulting the English language is something we like to do. You don’t like it? Fine, be that way.

So, David is in Seattle and apparently he’s a big Starbucks fan. Such a big fan that he actually went to the original coffee shop that was made in the 70s (or something).

What’s cool about this video is that it’s actually properly recorded. It’s 2011, this is what a video blog should look like.

David, if you’re reading this, can you give fellow Big Four musician Charlie Benante some tips on HD video blogging? His poor channel has videos that look like they were made a few decades before that Starbucks opened.

Aliases’ debut video

Aliases, the band formed partly by ex SiKth guitarist Pin, and features, wait for it, OMG – a female guitarist (how quaint), have released their debut ass kicking video for the song ‘What’s Left For Us’.

The song itself very much sounds similar in style to SiKth, and that’s not a bad thing. The video was debuted at Metalinjection.net.

Slash doesn’t understand Guns N’ Roses “hysteria”

Heineken Music recently conducted an interview with guitarist Slash, in which the “legendary” artist admits he doesn’t understand the “hysteria” and legacy that surrounds Guns N’ Roses.

Personally, I do understand the legacy, but I also kind of agree with him. Besides Appetite for Destruction, I really couldn’t give much of a crap about any of their albums… Flame me, it makes me feel horny.

Dave kicked Chris Poland in the face. In a limo!

Dave may look all nice and friendly in that photo above, but apparently he kicked (former Megadeth guitarist) Chris Poland in the face.

“One night we had gone out and had two limousines at the record release party. One was for us and one was for our girlfriends and wives. We came out of the party and we were all obviously going to score [drugs]. I was grumbling and said something about Chris’ girlfriend, and he jumped across the limo to try and do something with me, and I kicked him in the face.“

In a limo! This sounds like the plot to an American Pie film, or at least a similarly atrocious National Lampoon shitfest.

Anyway, next time you’re sitting at home wondering why Megadeth changed their lineup a million times, consider being in the band and the lead singer trying to score a field goal with your head. Would you stay?

I keed, I keed, I’m sure there’s more to these stories than just random drug fights. Cocaine’s a helluva drug… Huh huh huh.

Pheew! Corey still doesn’t want to do a new album

Did we dodge a bullet, or what? Corey Taylor apparently isn’t ready for a new Slipknot album. Thank God for that, I don’t think my ears could take another one. Could yours?

“I feel better about it, but I’m still kind of on the fence. We’re taking baby steps and we’re going to take our time.“

Of course, that means he’s just ‘taking his time’ in the press and that he will, eventually, record a new album. Knowing this industry and the lack of money around it, every band is reuniting and releasing shit.

So our luck will run out and a new CD will be out. Mark my words, folks.
