Earlier today (yesterday if you’re in another timezone), Masaki Murashita, singer and guitarist of Hemoptysis contacted us to write about their upcoming album ‘Misanthropic Slaughter’.
To be honest with you, I wasn’t in the mood to listen to some grainy demo but man, was I surprised when I listened to said album. Check out my review after the jump.

Hemoptysis – Misanthropic Slaughter (2011)
‘Misanthropic Slaughter’ starts off with the title song ‘Misanthropic Slaughter’ and while listening to that song, I realized that I’m not listening to some garage band who just recorded their music on a tape recorder. No, this is some of the best Oldschool Thrash Metal I’ve heard in a long time.
If you like Oldschool Thrash with lots of hints to early Death Metal, you’ll love this band. If you like it heavy, you’ll enjoy the title song and the epic ‘Impending Doom’. If you prefer it more melodic, you’ll like ‘M.O.D.’ or ‘Shadow of Death,’ for which Hemoptysis shot a video.

Above song not only includes lots of melody but also guitar virtuosity at its best, just listen to that sweet god damn solo. This album, from start to finish, is a celebration of Thrash and Death Metal. They give nods to Death, Megadeth, early Metallica and at times Slayer.
As for the production, it’s not perfect but this is the band’s first full-lenght album. Considering they’re not signed, the sound is mindblowing. It’s incredible how an unsigned band like this manages to sound better than lots of signed bands.
I predict a bright future for this band. I haven’t listened to their first output, the EP ‘Who Needs a Shepherd?’ from 2008, yet but it’s on my to-listen-to list. Meanwhile you should definitely add this album to your list.
