Korn, Megadeth & Slayer comment on Grammy nominations

We reported yesterday that Korn, Megadeth and Slayer, among others, have been nominated for Best Metal Performance for this year’s Grammy awards.

Recently, Jonathan Davis of Korn, Shawn Drover of Megadeth and Tom Araya of Slayer, all have commented on their nominations.

Make the jump to read their comments and my comments about their comments.

Jonathan Davis, Korn crybaby, told the following AOL’s Noisecreep;

“Our new album, ‘Korn III: Remember Who You Are’ really means a lot to us. It’s a return to our roots. So the fact that the Grammy committee recognizes one of our favorite tracks from that album is an immense honor. And, to be nominated alongside Maiden — well, that makes it even more killer.”

Well, it indeed must be an honor to be nominated for an award alongside Iron Maiden, but what Davis failed to share was that Korn’s new album is a load of shit and that Korn and metal shouldn’t even be said in the same sentence, unless someone rambles about how horrible Nu-Metal is.

Megadeth Drummer Shawn Drover commented on their nomination as followed;

“Let me tell you, it is nice to wake up, make some awesome coffee and read the barrage of emails congratulating Megadeth on our Grammy nomination for ‘Best Metal Performance’. I am really thankful and humbled about the whole thing, and I am looking forward to attending the Grammys and having a total blast, like we did last year.”

Sure. In my opinion, Megadeth deserve to be nominated but for ‘Sudden Death’? A song that only got recorded for a video game? Come on. ‘Endgame’ is an awesome album and I would have agreed if ‘Head Crusher’ got nominated but come-the-fuck-on.

To guy who can’t headbang anymore, Tom Araya of Slayer had the following to say about their nomination;

“I admit, I’m excited and kind of surprised. To have Slayer’s music recognized by an organization as traditional as the Grammys — five times now — is like that gold star that someone puts up by your name. It’s unexpected, but it’s cool.”

And I admit, I don’t have anything witty to say about this because ‘World Painted Blood’ is a banging song.
