That Crooked Music strikes back
Them Crooked Vultures is a supergroup. But there’s nothing super about them, really, because their idea of music is basically long jams on stage and rehashed QOTSA riffs. So if you love them as much as I do, good news, new album coming soon.
“Some stuff we’ve worked on, but we’re gonna write pretty quickly and just put it down… we may be a year or so. It will mainly be excess material from the first album, material we started and never finished because we had to go and play the stuff we already recorded!“ said John Paul Jones.

Oh, so it’s not even a proper new album, just B-sides and stuff? Sounds awesome guys. Looking forward to it!
I have an idea for the cover. How about human heads on vulture bodies this time? \m/
Iron Cradle of Maiden Filth
Cradle of Filth like to compare themselves to Iron Maiden. I mean, why not? They’re basically Iron Maiden if you take away talent, legend status, skill, record sales and pretty much everything that makes Iron Maiden, well… Iron Maiden. Still, they’re pretty similar.
“We’ve always been likened to Maiden. A few people have described us as Iron Maiden on crack. The whole band was totally into Maiden when we started and we thought we could do the same thing but we didn’t want to because there was a death metal scene happening right around then. So we decided to get into that and mix it up with the Maiden stuff we liked and put lots of horror like keys and stuff on top of it and that’s how we started.” said Paul Allender while applying mascara to his face.

Iron Maiden on crack, you say? Well I agree with the “crack” part, I just can’t see the similarities to one of the best metal bands of all time. Oh, they all look like Eddie, does that count?
When asked why he is so modest and humble, Paul Allender had no comment.
Metallica will write a new album…
Cover your ears and hide your children, Metallica will go back to the studio in 2011.
“There’s a bunch of balls in the air for 2011, but I think the main one is we really want to get back to writing again. We haven’t really written since, what, ’06, ’07, and we want to get back to kind of just being creative again. Right now we are going to just chill out and then probably start up again in, I’d say, March or April, and start probably putting the creative cap back on and start writing some songs.“ said Lars Ulrich while polishing his paintings

When asked what new genre/look they’ll try to emulate now in an attempt to ‘connect’ with the kids, Lars Ulrich had no comment. He just pointed to his Fall Out Boy poster.
Mother… Tell your children not to cancel gigs
Tell your children to at least give a few hours notice… What they mean, what they say… Mother!
“Danzig‘s concert last night (Tuesday, November 9) at the Cabooze in Minneapolis, Minnesota as part of the “Blackest Of The Black” tour was canceled an hour before the 6 p.m. showtime. It was such late notice that the venue wasn’t able to get the word out that Danzig wasn’t playing, that the rest of the bands on the bill — Possessed, Marduk, Toxic Holocaust and Withered — were still going to perform their scheduled sets, and that the show was going to be free and tickets refunded.“
Not about to give you a refund,
But if you wanna find the booth with me
I can show you where it’s at
Till you get it.

Never trust a Clown
Slipknot‘s Clown, also known as the guy who adds nothing to the band’s sound, is modest about his band’s accomplishments (which he had nothing to do with).
“We’ll be back. It’s not a band, it’s a culture, and you can’t just wipe a culture off the face of the earth. People won’t have it.“ said Shawn “Clown” Crahan in some interview somewhere or something…
Really? A culture, huh? Well, come on, no need to get modest on us, Clown, tell us how you really feel about Slipknot‘s achievements.
To be fair, Slipknot‘s gimmick thing with the masks is very original, and has spawn a lot of imitations. Bands like Kiss, Gwar or Mushroomhead, who just took Slipknot‘s idea, went back in time and did it before them. So it is something of a phenomenon.
