Manobulgar

Joey DeMaio of Manowar apparently loves Bulgaria. So recently he sat down with Sofia’s mayor to talk about how much he loves Bulgaria. Is there a business venture he’s opening there, or why is he hanging out with politicians?

“Joey signed the city’s Book of Honor with the following text: ‘To the beautiful city of Sofia and to the most beautiful mayor I have ever met and in the world’“

I like some cities as well, so I just, you know… Visit them. I don’t need to tell everyone how much I love them. And I wanted to add a homoerotic joke in here but then I realized… The mayor is a female. So now it all makes sense. Joey wants to hit that. Aww, let’s not cockblock him then. Good luck, my man.This is what she said about him, by the way:

Kids ruin Pantera

Look, I’m not gonna attack some kids passionate about music. If anything, with all the stupid kids doing Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga covers on YouTube, these guys are a breath of fresh air. So I applaud their skill and hope they’ll keep working on their craft and grow up to write influential music of their own.

However, they keep covering Pantera (cause I have seen them before) and to me, it doesn’t cut the mustard. Sorry. It just doesn’t, and I’m not gonna patronize them just because they’re young. The intro to the song you’re about to hear is horrible and the kid’s voice is taking away everything that made Pantera’s vocals great. Keep working, guys, you got my moral support. But this is just substandard.

Slash Eyed Peas

Slash has a new video out, and it’s with Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie. The concept is quite sci-fi and it makes ‘Star Wars’ look like a documentary, here’s why:

“In the clip, which was filmed on August 27, Fergie plays an obsessed fan who will do anything to get her man, stalking the famous guitarist around the seedy bars of Los Angeles.“

Haha, see what I mean? I can suspend my disbelief about the Death Star but Slash having a female stalker? Come on. Anyway, there’s a censored version and an uncensored one. Both versions, after the jump. But don’t worry, you won’t have to cover your eyes, Fergie doesn’t get naked so pheew.

Phil just got his Christmas present

If you’re asking this to yourself right now: “Gee, I wonder what Phil Anselmo would look like opening his Christmas presents and then realizing it’s not what he wanted, but he has to pretend it’s cool for the sake of his parents’ feelings“ then my oh my, you’re in luck.

Check out a video of Phil opening up the “Ultimate Edition” of ‘Cowboys from Hell,’ which will be in stores November 22nd for all the Pantera fans who will still waste pay good money for basically the same album they got 20 years ago. After the jump.

Murdertours U.K.

Speaking of masked drummers, Joey Jordison’s other band, Murderdolls, are going on tour.  Usually I’d say “who cares?” but after posting about Lordi, suddenly these guys feel like Led Zeppelin. Besides, it’s only in the U.K. for now so I’m safe.

The tour will start in February of next year and tickets will go on sale October 29, at 9 a.m. Dates, after the jump.
