Friday Top 10: Metal beards

Facial hair… An useful tool (most) guys have to change their look a bit. Sometimes it improves it, other times it just makes it worse. There’s a fine line between having a good beard and looking ridiculous, and in metal, that line is usually overstepped. Big time. So this is what this Top 10 is about… Metal Beards.

Engel of death

Engel has a new video out. It’s called “Six Feet Deep” because apparently the expression  “six feet” is something often used in metal. But does it pass the awesome test?

Random shots of a highway? Check.
Random and cheesy optical flares? Check.
The same shot colored in different ways to make it seem like there are more shots? Check.

100% passed. This video is awesome! View it after the jump.

Anthemsmith

New American Idol judge Steven Tyler will sing the national anthem at some hockey game or something. I dozed off midway through the news and I woke up in a daze, remembering nothing.

“Aerosmith frontman, Steven Tyler, will sing the National Anthem at the Bruins domestic home opener against the Washington Capitals at 7:00 p.m. at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston MA 02114.) Tyler is in town to help the Boston Bruins Foundation kick-off their season-long raffle for a customized Bruins motorcycle.

When asked if he can fit two hockey pucks, side by side, in his mouth, Steven had no comment. He just raised three fingers.

Guns N' Emirates

If you live in the United Arab Emirates and you love Guns N’ Roses, tough luck. They’re not coming.

However, a band fronted by Axl Rose with a bunch of hired musicians are coming to the U.A.E., and although they share the same name with the band we all know and love, nothing else is similar. But hey, beats staying home and playing online poker naked, doesn’t it?

“Guns N’ Roses will play on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, later this year. The concert is being organized by Flash Entertainment as part of a slew of events around the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. They will perform on December 16. Ticket prices will begin at Dh150 (around $41).

When asked where he buys his extensions, Axl Rose had no comment.
