Black Label Video

You know, Kirk Hammett gets a lot of shit for his overuse of the wah pedal, but nobody really says anything about Zakk Wylde’s. Why is that? Is it because Kirk actually showers?

Anyway, apparently Zakk and his band, Johnnie Walker Black Label Society just shot a video.

“Black Label Society recently shot a video for the song “Overlord”with directors Eric Zimmerman (who?) and Nik Jamgocyan (who?) of Master Cylinder (oh right, now I know </sarcasm>). The track comes off the band’s new album, “Order Of The Black.”

Not only do I not know who the directors are, but I can’t even spell their names properly without insulting some country or culture from God-knows-where. This isn’t really news. Why am I posting it, then? No fucking clue… Why are you reading it, smarty pants? I know you are, but what am I? Fuck off…

Serj has fans?

There’s one thing you need to know about Serj Tankian fans. They don’t really exist. So imagine my surprise when I read that he has answered fan-submitted questions.

That’s like being 25 and hearing Santa is waiting for your letter. I mean, at a certain age you just stop believing in this stuff. Of course, this begs the question “Is your dad dressing up as a Serj fan and submitting questions?” — Good point. I’ll get back to you on that. When asked why every Armenian surname ends with “-ian,” Serj had no comment.

Jason Newsted is safe

I always turn news into jokes, but I didn’t know how to spin this story, as I’ve always liked and respected Mr. Newsted… I wanted to make a joke about him working at KFC, but decided against it. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have posted it at all but it’s too late now as the backspace key is broken on my keyboard so fuck you, don’t judge me, you’re not my fucking mom. Jesus.

Anyway, Metallica frontman James “YEAAAH” Hetfield recently said in an interview that there’s no ‘ill will’ towards Jason, and that although their friendship isn’t exactly rekindled, at least they’re all at peace with each other. Awww, group hug.

“Last time we talked to Jason was at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. We’re not coming over for barbecues or anything, but, you know, we’re at peace and he’s at peace with his decision. And that’s good; there’s no ill will towards anything he’s done or he’s going to do at all.” said James while polishing his gun.

Sully Erna loves his album. We don’t. But who cares what we think, right?

“This is a more intellectual side of me that I did because I like playing this kind of music. Godsmack, yeah, it’s about the music, but it’s also about the energy, the pyro, and the show. This is about the music. This is back to like when Pink Floyd put out “Dark Side Of The Moon” — holy shit, he’s not comparing himself to that, is he?

“Not that I’m comparing myself to that, but I hope that it holds up like that. I hope people realize that this is all about the music, the visuals, and the journey it takes you in when you close your eyes and listen to these sounds.” — we realize that, but the journey it took us while listening to it was the musical equivalent of being kidnapped by a nympho werewolf who rapes you and then dumps you in the woods in a pool of blood.
