Deep Purple Icon album
Kicking off the last week of 2011 with a news story that I didn’t really read properly.
Apparently a special ‘Icon’ album from Deep Purple will be released with the following songs on it:
01. Smoke On The Water
02. Hush
03. Woman From Tokyo
04. Knocking At Your Back Door
05. Call Of The Wild
06. Perfect Strangers
07. Bad Attitude
08. Nobody’s Home
09. Black Night
10. Child In Time
11. Strange Kind Of Woman
But that’s all I know cause I stopped reading halfway through. Why? Cause it’s not 1970.
2012 is ‘knocking at your back door,’ get with the times, yo.

Kerry King has doubts about future Big Four shows
If you haven’t seen The Big Four live, then maybe you shouldn’t get your hopes up about future shows… At least according to Kerry King…
“If you look at how much work went into making it all happen in the first place, then I really doubt we can do the same thing again. […] I know there are some parts where they’re angry not to have gotten the chance to see it. […] But I honestly doubt we can get our schedules to coincide like that again.“

Whilst I do agree that four active bands syncing their touring schedule is not the easiest thing in the world, but when money is involved, they’ll find a way. Let’s not forget the other three bands were enjoying the large crowds brought by Metallica. The DVD sold pretty well, too. They keep saying they get along. There’s nothing stopping them from doing them again.
I pretty much doubt a scheduling snafu will kill this major cash cow.
Thursday’s full dose of metal
We’ve always posted live clips on this site, but we’ve never posted a FULL concert. I guess it’s time.
Iron Maiden live @ Donnngton 2007.
One hour. Forty minutes. Seventeen seconds. All of pure raw metal awesomeness.

Beyond Magnetic sold twice as much as Lulu
The four unreleased Death Magnetic tracks were sold as an EP on iTunes. Guess what, they sold twice as much as Lulu.
“Metallica‘s four-song digital EP called Beyond Magnetic sold 36,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at position No. 32 on The Billboard 200 chart. The effort consists of the quartet of previously unheard tracks that the band unveiled in concert earlier in the month during its 30th-anniversary celebration. All four tunes — “Hate Train”, “Just A Bullet Away”, “Hell And Back” and “Rebel Of Babylon” — were recorded during the sessions for the band’s 2008 Death Magnetic album but left off the final track list.“

Considering the songs have been available for free everywhere, including YouTube, it’s pretty cool that they sold so many copies. Take that, Lou Reed.
Disturbed meal
Ever wondered what David Draiman of Disturbed eats? Me neither.
Want to see an interview with him talking about his diet and exercise? Of course not.
Why am I posting that video then? To troll.
