Captain Mustaine leads the Megadave ship
According to Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick, Megadeth is a ship and Dave Mustaine is its captain. Captain obvious.
“It’s Dave’s band. He makes the rules, I have no problem with that — anyone that stays committed to one band for this long deserves to make the rules; he’s the captain of the ship. Besides, it was always his vision, Megadeth is his band.“

While I do agree that Dave is the bandleader and that it’s his baby, a bit of democracy wouldn’t hurt. Not that I know what it’s like to work in Megadeth, but I have a feeling it’s a bit reminiscent of Germany.
By that I mean, of course, that they drink a lot of beer and have a great worth ethic. [insert rolling eyes emoticon here]

Kirk told Dave to play all the solos
When Dave played with Metallica a few nights ago, he was a bit confused as to what versions of the songs he should have played. Luckily Kirk stepped in and saved the day:
“I was trying to figure out, Do I learn the demo versions of the songs or the Kill ‘Em All versions of the songs? Well, I found out it was the Kill ‘Em All versions. OK, do I learn my solos from the demos, or Kirk’s solos? What solos should I play? Then, when I got there, Kirk said, ‘You know, why don’t you play all the solos?’ And I was like, ‘Oooh!’ [laughs] I had to quickly go through my bag of tricks.“

They should have done a ‘Four Horsemen vs. Mechanix’ performance. Yup.
Shitty Corey Taylor interview with horrible sound
I’ve seen more professionally looking videos from 10 year olds playing with their dad’s iPhones, so I have no idea who these guys are, but they managed to make Corey Taylor sound even more annoying with their awful sound recording. If you like bad sound and ‘click click click’ noise, well, then you probably listen to Slipknot — so the interview above is for you.
The couple that played Metallica songs at their weddings jammed with Metallica.
Remember the clip above? Two awesome people with a passion for music and Metallica played “Master of Puppets” at their wedding. Metallica invited them to jam with them on their anniversary shows. Isn’t that sweet?
I wish my wife was into Metallica and could play an instrument. Imaginary wives don’t really do much so, tough luck 🙁

Brian May has tapes of Freddie and Michael Jackson
Brian May apparently has tapes of Freddie Mercury and Michael Jackson together. This can be really great or really gross, depending if you’re Rob Halford or not.
“There is a couple of very interesting tapes with Freddie singing with Michael Jackson that we’re looking at. Those kind of things we can work on together and it’s nice that in a sense Freddie is still involved in it.“

Let’s hope ‘singing’ really means singing and isn’t a homoerotic euphemism. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
