Chickenfoot release new video. World yawns.

Chickenfoot are a ‘super group,’ but the only ‘super’ thing about it is just how ‘unsuper’ it really is. Does that make sense? Of course not, let’s move on.

They’ve just released the video above and all I can say is… IT HAS CHICKENS IN IT! ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who would have thought, huh? Nothing beats a low-angle shot of a chicken. NOTHING. I mean, maybe one thing… If after that shot you follow up with some guy in a chicken suit. That would be absolutely epic, but no video in the world would ever have that much awesomeness in a single… OH WAIT FUCK THIS VIDEO HAS THAT TOO!

Is it the best video of all time? Hell fucking yes. [insert lame sarcastic emoticon here, bitch]

Steel Panther make YouTube video

Remember Freddie Wong? We interviewed him some time ago because why wouldn’t we?

He’s a pretty major YouTube player nowadays, one of the most subscribed content creators who keeps getting celebrities in his videos, which is awesome.

This week he’s had none other than Steel Panther (who?) in his vid. The band is performing while he ducks giant balls. No, not kidding.

Make the jump to see a behind the scenes video from him. If you can stomach a middle aged man putting lipstick on, that is.

It’s too soon for a new Slipknot album. Pheeew!

Upon  reading confirmations of a Slipknot US tour, I was a bit scared that a new Slipknot album might be coming next. Fortunately the Clown’s statement calmed me down. Pheew-fucking-hoo, dodged that bullet.

I wanted to tell everyone straight from my mouth because you may have heard it already anyway, but SLIPKNOT will be touring by next June in America only, but that does not mean things will not change, and as they do, I will, along with others, tell you, our family, first. No album yet because it is too soon and there are no songs yet because the band needs to come together to write this next one. I cannot wait to feel the ideas like choking on color. Everything happens for a reason, so be ready.

Read Facebook post here.

I have an idea, why don’t you start writing the album? Oh wait, you can’t write an album with a barrel! ZING.

Great! Another Metallica book

I get the point of an autobiography. Even if it has a ghost writer, it may still make for a pretty interesting read. Musicians have interesting lives — the tours, the drinking, the drugs, the STDs. Big musicians live a life of luxury and excess and have quite a few stories to tell.

What I don’t get is when others write biographies. Great, some dude knows a few things, read a few interviews and has an opinion. The nerve of that person to write all that crap. Wait, I actually do that too. At least I blog, though. Get with the times, lulz, who reads books anymore?

Anyway, such seems to be the case with yet another Metallica book: Enter Night (by Mick Wall)

This guy says Dave being kicked out made the band more focused, implies that Cliff wouldn’t have liked Metallica‘s replacing him so fast and says a bunch of stuff about Jason.

You can read the full interview with the author here.

How on Earth can someone know what a dead person would have wanted? And why would Cliff not want Metallica to keep going, or be ‘upset’ about being replaced? He seemed like a pretty cool guy, who wants to die and ruin careers and lives in doing so? If I died, I truly want everyone who knew me to move on as quickly as possible and not let my death get in the way of their lives. I didn’t know Cliff, but I honestly doubt he would have a problem with Metallica ‘soldiering on’ and becoming so big. And finding a replacement fast was a instrumental to that success, cause they were pretty big around those times.

But that’s just my opinion, at least I don’t write a book about it. I never understood how people can just cash in on famous people by writing unauthorized books about them. Meanwhile I’m registered as a sex offender for stalking Miley Cyrus a few years ago.

Fair? I think not.

This is what made Jaymz cry

As Simo wrote yesterday, Lou Reed apparently made both James and Kirk cry. Now, no surprise there when it comes to Kirk. But Jaymz? That’s something.

So here are the lyrics that made both Metallica guitarists soft (to say the least):

“Junior Dad”

Would you come to me
If I was half drowning
An arm above the last wave
Would you come to me
Would you pull me up

Would the effort really hurt you
Is it unfair to ask you
To help pull me up

The window broke the silence of the matches
The smoke effortlessly floating
I'm all choked up

Pull me up
Would you be my lord and savior
Pull me up by the hair
Now would you kiss me on my lips

Burning fever burning on my forehead
The brain that once was listening
Now shoots out its tiresome message

Won't you pull me up
Scalding my dead father has the motor
And he's driving towards
An island of lost souls

Sunny - a monkey then to monkey
I will teach you meanness fear and blindness
No social redeeming kindness

Oh-or-state of grace
Would you pull me up
Would you drop the mental bullet
Would you pull me by the arm up
Would you still kiss my lips
Hiccup: the dream is over
Get the coffee: turn the lights on
Say hello to junior dad
The greatest disappointment
Age withered him and changed him
Into junior dad
Psychic savagery

To be fair to them, they do have a pretty bad family background, so it does feel a bit mean picking on them for this. Then again, read the title of the page. This is DOSE OF METAL, if we’re not being mean, we’re simply not doing our jobs.

Can’t wait to hear the whole record, though. And by ‘can’t wait’ I mean ‘don’t want.’
