Jasta and Wylde sitting in a tree…
There’s nothing new about the concept of Jasta releasing his songs over the interwebz as he’s done it before, but this new track is with Zakk Wylde so, check it out if you’re a fan.
Here’s some info I got from Blabbermouth because I’m way too lazy to research it myself:
“The Fearless Must Endure, a brand new solo track by Jamey Jasta, can be streamed [online]. The song, which features a guest appearance by Zakk Wylde, comes off Jasta’s solo album, simply titled Jasta, which is scheduled for release on July 26 via eOne Music. The CD will be made available in Europe one day earlier through Century Media Records.“

Trivium have advice for Metallica
Trivium have some words of wisdom for Metallica. If I were Lars, I’d listen. These guys have obviously studied and reproduced Metallica‘s sound time and time again, so they know their shit.
“I checked [Death Magnetic] out. It was better than ‘St. Anger.’ I think they did a really good job of getting back to what made them Metallica in the first place, and I just wish they would get someone like Colin [Richardson] or Andy Sneap to mix the shit out of those records. ‘Cause [‘Death Magnetic’] and the new Slayer album [‘World Painted Blood’], if they had the production quality of, say, the new Megadeth and Exodus albums, they’d be brutal as shit. I think there’s good songwriting, but if you [combine] cool songs with killer, modern production, it really adds to the listening experience…” said Corey Beaulieu (not pictured above)
Hopefully the production quality on the next [Metallica album] and they just deliver something that is sonically crushing like the ‘black’ album was; [that record] was ahead of its time as far as album production for a metal CD. So hopefully they do that.“

Leaving jokes aside, they do have a point. Why make albums if you’re gonna make the sound like shit? Or lemme put it this way… Why go through all the trouble of recording music if you’re not go all the way and present them in perfect quality?
Hopefully they’ve learned their lesson and the waveforms of the new songs won’t look like fucking bricks.
DJ Ashba was judged
One Guns N’ Roses guitarist (they have like 5 or something) talks about being judged while growing up and being an outsider… Hmm, I wonder why that was…
“I was judged my whole life, looking like I do, before I became what I became. […] People always looking at me like I never fit in.“

Looking like what? Pierced lip, eyeliner, tattoos? Well it’s not like you were born with those, I’m pretty sure you looked normal without them. You chose to look different than everyone else so why were you surprised you didn’t fit in?
“Now I go home and it’s like the hometown hero. The fact is, I ignored everybody and followed my heart — that’s the key to any success.“
I disagree that the key to success is to make yourself look like an outcast and ignore everyone. What’s wrong with having a lot of friends and still following your heart? Being socially apt and having a music career are not mutually exclusive.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s fucked up if he had problems growing up because no kid deserves to have his self-esteem messed up just because of dumb bullies. But why would you choose to look like that if you don’t like being the outcast? I like rock music too but I don’t necessarily show it through my clothing.
This thought of “fuck everybody, do it your way” is only a good advice coming from success stories. How many other musicians who ‘kept it real’ ended up working at McDonald’s in their 50s?
But hey, can’t really judge the guy. I don’t know him and I don’t know what he’s been through… I do know what he’s saying about everyone wanting to be his friend now that he’s pretty well known. The world is so hypocritical, it’s not even funny.
Dave knows drugs
Dave Mustaine of Megadeth knows a lot about drug addiction. Don’t believe me? See for yourself, jeez, it’s not like I have to prove anything to you…
“I know why some people get loaded, because it feels good. Some people get loaded when their teams win, some get loaded when their teams lose, some get loaded when their team’s starting a game, some get loaded when nothing’s even happening, but that’s just a recreational, emotional thing. But when you get to that place when you’re strung out [on heroin], that’s a bitch, because it’s not very gracious. It doesn’t discriminate; it will take anybody down.“
