Phil takes one for the team…
Phil Anselmo got hit in the head by Pepper Keenan’s guitar during a Down show last night. He continued to perform with a bloody head. Because blood is metal.
Dave “Snake” Sabo (who?) reported this via Twitter:
“Holy shit! Pepper Keenan just hit Anselmo in the head w/ his gtr by accident & busted Philips head open! Blood all over the place! But they keep going!! Fucking awesome!“

Blabbermouth has actual photos of the incident, we didn’t want to scare the kids and just drew some blood in paint. I think our photo looks better than the real ones but hey, what can you do?
Drugs are good, mmkay?
Rock’s version of Paula Abdul, Steven Tyler, felt the need to share with the world that he did drugs with guitarist Joe Perry in 2008. Damn, Steven and his literally big mouth.
“In an interview with Rolling Stone, Tyler says he and Joe Perry did drugs together in 2008 after years of sobriety. Aerosmith had been working on a new album, which never developed. Tyler says Perry was so impaired by snorting prescription pills, he couldn’t even play his instrument. Tyler says he was no better — he couldn’t sing.“

Hey, look at the positive. He can also blame his effeminate weird clothing on drugs. It’s like a ‘get away with anything’ card, this substance abuse thing.
Anyway, isn’t he a household name now from that one karaoke show he’s on? Why is he talking about drugs? What about all the kids looking up to him? Listen, I drink a lot of beer, but it’s not like I talk about alcohol abuse like it’s a good thing… Oh wait, yes I do.

Kickass Machine Head album is kickass
Machine Head drummer Dave McClain talked about their new album in a recent interview. Gee, is he gonna hype it up?
“We feel like we’ve got another kickass album on our hands and we can’t wait for everybody to hear it.“

What a surprise, it’s gonna kick major ass, huh? For once I’d like to hear some honesty from musicians, like “Yeah, the new album is gonna be safe, boring, predictable and 50% filler but buy it, because that’s what pays for our lifestyle” or something.
When asked if he’d ever risk his life to save Nakatomi Plaza, Dave McClain had no comment.
Axl has a sense of humor
Our friend Bumblefoot recently revealed in an interview that Axl is a funnyman.
“He’s got a great sense of humor. A real ball-buster. Sometimes he’ll tell jokes into our in-ear monitors while we’re tryin’ to take a solo, he’s fucked me up a few times, haha… “

It doesn’t surprise me… One look at the classic ‘November Rain’ video and you can totally see Axl’s humorous side, right? That video isn’t serious, is it?
Here’s what I wrote about it in an older article:
“So the video is basically about Axl’s wedding to some bimbo. They talk in a bar, whatever, then on the day of the wedding, Slash is the best man (irony ftmfw). He forgot the ring though, shit… Oh wait, some other dude has it on his pinky. Day saved.
Axl gets married, Slash walks out in a rage. As he walks out, his guitar magically appears as he exists the church and the solo starts. Helicopter shot. Then (november) rain hits the wedding, everyone hides, blah blah.
Axl’s wife is dead. Wait, what? Axl wakes up from a dream. Was it all a dream? No wait, he’s still at the funeral. This doesn’t make any fucking sense, whatsofuckingever.“
