Video of the Week: Rammstein (at Jimmy Kimmel)
You know, I like Rammstein, but isn’t ‘Du Hast’ the most overplayed song in their repertoire? I know that they haven’t toured in the States in about 10 years but is ‘Du Hast’ a good choice to play, instead of a new song?
They played that particular song on Jimmy Kimmel Live this past thursday and, while I really enjoyed the performance, I’m simply just sick of the song. The band released four albums since then and — even though this might be their most known song — I think this is a poor choice to get back into people’s minds.
I don’t even particularly like their new album, Liebe Ist Für Alle Da (= Love Is For Everyone), but I think I would have prefered them to play a song off that record.
But it is what it is, and I imagine Jimmy Kimmel and his people had a say in that, too. So just watch the performance above and enjoy a lot of fire because that’s what Rammstein are all about. Crazy and fun shows with a lot of fire.
Review: Nephrolith – Xullux
We’ve recently been contacted by Nephrolith in hopes for us to review their debut album Xullux. Well, even thought we took our time, because we’re lazy busy bastards, here it finally is.
First off, a little about the band though. Nephrolith are a Slovenian Black Metal (as if the picture above didn’t give away enough already) band who recorded a demo, called Vinsketh, in 2009 and just recently released their debut album Xullux.
Now you know as much about the band as I know. Make the jump to read my review of Xullux.
Napalm Death in the studio
Who’s in the mood for some noise? You are? Well, that’s good because you can now watch a 21 second video of Shane Embury laying down bass tracks for Napalm Death’s, as of yet untitled, 14th album on their Facebook page.
Am I labelling Napalm Death as noise? No, but you can’t make out anything from that studio footage at all, just that Embury’s playing something really fast. That’s some of the worst footage I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of crappy footage on Youtube.
Let’s just hope that the album is recorded in some better quality than that or else we’re getting something close to… an Anal Cunt album and who really wants that? Not me.
Tuesday Trivia: Playing break-up
The picture you see above is of a band called Nihilist, a Death Metal band from Sweden that formed in 1987. The four guys on the right are most famously known for being the original bandmembers of Entombed and the guy on the left is Johnny Hedlund, bassist and vocalist of Unleashed.
Nihilist broke up in 1989, but not without controversy. What the hell am I talking about? Well, make the jump to find out and read this week’s Tuesday Trivia.
Anaal for free
Anaal, not anal, but you didn’t get excited for nothing because Anaal Nathrakh are currently streaming their new album Passion right here.
I’ve just had the chance to listen to the first two songs and not more just yet but those two songs (‘Volenti Non Fit Iniuria’ and ‘Drug-Fucking Abomination’) already kicked massive amounts of ass.
So if you’re in the mood for some Blackened Grind Industrial Metal (or whatever they label themselves), check it out because it’s definitely worth it.
