Listen to the new Cavalera Conspiracy album

One question: When the hell did both Cavaleras get so fat? Seriously, it looks like Max had seven dinners (Get it? Because he’s wearing a shirt of Possessed’s ‘Seven Churches’! Oh… AHAHAHAHA I’m so funny).

Moving on. You can now stream the new Cavalera Conspiracy album ‘Blunt Force Trauma’ on the German Roadrunner Records site here. Listen to it or don’t. What do I care? I’m listening to the special edition of Amon Amarth’s ‘Surtur Rising,’ which I got earlier today. I haven’t listened to the new Cavalera Conspiracy but it can’t be as good as the new Amon Amarth. It just can’t be.

Weekly Dose of Metal: Old Man’s Child

Everyone knows that Dimmu Borgir fucking suck, right? I don’t have to go into detail here. There’s one member in that band who’s very talented though and that’s guitarist Galder. Galder joined Dimmu Burger in 2000 but started his own band in 1993, called Old Man’s Child.

What does the name stand for? The Old Man is supposed to represent the Devil, so it’s The Devil’s Child.

In this on-and-off project, Galder plays all instruments, except the drums, himself. Old Man’s Child released seven albums so far, the latest, ‘Slaves of the World,’ being from 2009. Here’s a song of that album, called ‘The Crimson Meadows’.

Thrash ’til Death – Big Four times four, part 2

Last week, I came up with an idea for a Big 16, so to speak. My personal favorite Thrash Metal bands, divided into four seperate groups, each led by a genuine Big Four band. Is there more to it? Not really, I just like to write about Thrash Metal.

So when you make the jump, keep in mind that I’m basically just listing my favorite thrash bands. Success, influence and critical acclaim didn’t play a part in my list but simply personal preferences.

So, what are you waiting for? Make the jump. Now!

One Cavalera doesn’t want a Sepultura reunion

I don’t think there’s a band that I’ve written more about than Sepultura and usually it wasn’t even about their music but about Max Cavalera talking and talking (and talking) about a reunion of the classic Sepultura line-up, Andreas Kisser not wanting to reunite with the Cavalera’s, just to change his mind a couple of weeks later. It got so tiring that I simply stopped reading Sepultura news.

There’s another Cavalera who didn’t speak out about the situation though, and that’s Max’s brother Igor. That’s until recently when he was interviewed by Loud Magazine;

“Me and Max playing together, that’s the reunion. Out of all the other people who passed through Sepultura, that’s what I consider to be the reunion. I don’t see why there needs to be other people in on it. I’m more than happy to have what I have right now. I don’t need any other kind of reunion.”

Read the whole interview here.

Thank you! Finally someone with a right mindset. I hope that’s finally it and everyone else (I’m looking at you, Max!) stops talking about it.
