Interview: Thomas Gurrath (Debauchery)
What is this, a repost? No, after interviewing Thomas in October of last year, I interviewed him again, just before the new Debauchery album ‘Germany’s Next Death Metal’ gets released.
Make the jump for the interview and never forget “Blood for the Blood God!”.
Video of the Week: Job for a Cowboy
Some of you might be thinking now “Hey, what’s with this Deathcore crap? We don’t want that!” but you forgot one thing and that’s: Fuck you, I’m in charge.
Excluding their name, Job for a Cowboy are a pretty great band. I really enjoyed both of their albums, which by the way feature nothing but solid Death Metal. There, I said it. Job for a Cowboy aren’t Deathcore but Death Metal. Their first demo and EP might have been Deathcore, sure, but ‘Genesis’ and ‘Ruination’ sure as hell aren’t but enough of that already.
The video above for ‘Embedded,’ was the first thing I saw and heard of this band and that’s why it left a mark on me. I actually really like the video, especially the windmilling at 0:47. Windmilling rules. Shame I can’t do that because I’m bald but at least I look sexy as heeeeell.
Interview: Karl Willetts (Bolt Thrower)
Do you love to hear about war? Do you love oldschool Death Metal? If you can answer both of these question with yes, then you must love Bolt Thrower, one of the most popular and influential British Death Metal acts of all time.
Bolt Thrower always stood for quality which was manifested when the band decided not to record a follow-up to their 8th album ‘Those Once Loyal,’ because, to them (and many others), this album was the “perfect” Bolt Thrower album.
I got to interview Bolt Thrower vocalist and mastermind Karl Willetts recently. Check out the interview after the jump.

Not listening to your iPod while you’re at a concert, you dumbass, listening to your favorite band’s live album!
You know why metal bands are the best live performers? Because others aren’t metal. So now I’m listing the best fucking live albums… like… EVER!
Make the jump, you fool!
Weekly Dose of Metal: Swashbuckle
More Pirate Metal! Second week in a row, double yarr! Yarr Yarr! Alright, enough of that crap. After I introduced you to Pirate Metal last week, I just can’t not mention Swashbuckle. In contrast to Alestorm, Swashbuckle don’t play pirate themed Metal but have Pirate themed lyrics. In terms of music, Swashbuckle play Old School influenced Thrash Metal but they dress up as pirates and sing about looting so that makes them Pirate Metal!
Anyhow, to introduce you to Swashbuckle, I’m bringing you a song off their first album, called ‘Welcome Aboard’.
