Amon Amarth release first single
Yesterday, I posted about Amon Amarth premiering the first song of their upcoming album ‘Surtur Rising’ on Full Metal Jackie’s show. If you’re like me, you listened to the shitty webrip, anxiously waiting for a better version.
Wait no more because you can now listen to ‘War of the Gods’ on SurturRising.com in great quality. Also, you can pre-order the album in multiple different versions, i.e. with a bonus live DVD, that was recorded in Bochum, Germany in 2008 over the course of 4 days and includes all four first albums played in its entirety. I actually wanted to go to those concerts but I didn’t. I could cry endlessly because I didn’t. Oh, how stupid am I for missing that?
Anyhow, go to the site and listen to the song now or make the jump for a high quality YouTube video with the audio.
Amon Amarth premiers new song
Professional journalism should be fairminded and you shouldn’t include your own opinion into articles but I say fuck that and I’ll go on record saying once again, if you don’t like Amon Amarth, you can kiss my ass. This band eats, shits and breaths metal. A while ago, we showed you the artwork for the upcoming album, including the tracklist. Today, we’re giving you the first song, ‘War of the Gods’.
I’m not going to act like this is exclusive because it’s all over YouTube and Full Metal Jackie premiered it but for those who don’t listen to FMJ’s show and/or search for new Amon Amarth songs on YouTube daily, this might be the first time you’re hearing this song. All I want to say is, we fucking own and so does Amon Amarth. Check out the song after the jump but keep in mind that it’s just a shitty rip from a podcast.
Interview: Anton Kalaj (Immanifest)
I recently conducted an interview with Anton Kalaj, the man behind the keyboards of Blackened Death Metal band Immanifest. Immanifest released their first EP ‘Qliphotic’ in early 2010. If you haven’t already, check them out now.
Make the jump for the interview. If you’re in a band and you would like us to cover you guys/gals, contact us via the ‘Your Band’ form.
New Music Videos by Ozzy and Death Angel
Who loves music videos? Raise your hands. I don’t see no raised hands. Maybe because I’m sitting all alone in front of my computer and I don’t see a point in lifting my hand when no one’s around to see it. I should have asked that question when people are actually around. Plan B: “Don’t ask questions, just state your own opinion and don’t give a damn about what anybody else thinks.” I don’t like music videos, they bore me to death. If I want to listen to music, I’ll just turn on music. I don’t need YouTube for that.
But anyhow, for those who actually care for music videos, I got two brand new videos for you. Ozzy Osbourne released a music video for ‘Let it Die’. ‘Let it Die’ eh? That’s what your fans said. Also, Death Angel released a video for ‘River of Rapture’. Watch both videos after the jump, or do as I do and well, don’t.
Frank Sinatra is metal
When you’re listening to Frank Sinatra, have you ever wondered what his songs would sound like if they were metalized? And I’m not talking about the Death Metal parody Ten Masked Men did a few years ago, I’m talking about serious Heavy fucking Metal. Well, fear not! Because there’s a tribute album in the works.
Devin Townsend, Joey Belladonna, Tim “Ripper” Owens and Dee Snider, among others, each recorded a Frank Sinatra song to make it metal and all of this will be released as an album on March 29, called ‘SIN-atra’. Check out the tracklist after the jump.
