Chronographs give you free shit

The chances are, unless you’re a regular reader, with a phenomenal memory, you’ll probably be wondering “just who the hell are Chronographs?” But when they’re giving away their debut EP free, who the hell cares?

Do you like Metal? Do you like being able to not pay for things without facing a jail sentence? If the answer to both of these things is yes, then you can download Chronograph‘s debut album, Outhouse Sessions, in a variety of formats at this location.

For more about the band, you can ‘like’ them on Facebook here.

At The Gates head for Metaltown

Yup, the Swedish legends, At The Gates, are back (again) and have been confirmed for next year’s edition of the Metaltown festival, set to take place June 17-18, 2011 in Gothenburg, Sweden. The band loved their brief reunion in 2008 so much that they’ve decided to play a few more shows next year. Of course, if they love it so much, they could always reunite for real…

Anyways, the bill for Metaltown 2011 so far contains System of a Down, At the Gates, Cradle of Filth, Parkway Drive, and Raubtier. So at least now there’s one band to look forward to.

Ki$$ star in Family Guy

Believe it or not, Kiss and Family Guy both have a lot in common. Neither have been any good for about a million years, and hence why they’ve probably teamed up for a Christmas special.

Despite being posted on Blabbermouth, this isn’t actually news. A Very Special Family Guy Freakin’ Christmas actually first aired in 2001 in Season 3 (back when Family Guy didn’t suck so much – but unfortunately Kiss still did). If you never saw the episode though, or fancy watching it again , check it out on Cartoon Network tonight at 11:00 p.m. EST.

Need more advice? Dr Ozzy to the rescue

Living in the UK, despite being a developed Western country, unfortunately I have to make do with a mediocre (at best) health service. Sure, I could go private, but I can’t afford that. Now that’s where Ozzy Osbourne comes in. The veteran rocker has been “writing” his very own “ask Dr Ozzy” column for the Sunday Times for a while, and it’s been incredibly useful for myself and millions of other Britons. When I found my toe nail was growing inwards, Ozzy was there. When I had a sore throat, Ozzy described his perfect throat remedy. And when I felt a burning sensation as I urinated, Ozzy was there again to help.

So what’s Dr Ozzy up to now? Well it’s been revealed that he will soon be releasing a book Ask Dr. Ozzy in the U.S.A. ehich will be published through Grand Central Publishing. If you’re hoping to get this book for Christmas though, unlucky, as it won’t be released until around October 2011. More information here.

Opeth to enter studio

It’s now been 2 years since Opeth‘s last opus, Watershed, was released, so it only makes sense that the band are making plans to hit the studio in January to record their follow up effort. The band have been around for 20 years now, and in this time, if I could count, I’d be able to tell you this will be their tenth studio album. But unfortunately, I can’t (obviously).

In case you need some re-assuring of the quality of this forthcoming material (but why would you?), then fret no more, as Opeth have described the album as being *insert drum roll*… “good.” Well there you have it. And it’s not like the band is biased or anything either, is it?

Read more information over at Blabbermouth.
