Dave Mustaine wants quality
Apparently Dave Mustaine, of Megadeth (but you already knew that didn’t you?) wants to keep putting out “quality” stuff. Who doesn’t Dave? I would have thought that’s the idea of writing music, right?
Dave’s also still pretty modest. When asked about the Guitar Hero exclusive song, Sudden Death, he responded “The truth is, if you’re a music fan and you don’t like Megadeth, which I find hard to imagine, ‘Sudden Death’ can take things to a higher level for you.”

Win some Motorhead goodness
Good news for Motorhead fans (they still exist?). Apparently, in celebration of Motorhead’s forthcoming album and UK tour (really, this is something to celebrate?) Metal Hammer are offering you and a buddy the chance to win a prize of a life-time (their words, not mine).
If you fancy your chances at winning the opportunity to watch the band live from the side of the stage in London (Nov 26th), and then basically a load of crap you probably don’t care about (Signed picks, t-shirts etc), then just head over to Metal Hammer and post your favorite Motorhead song in the comments section. Metal Hammer will then pick a winner at random.
I’d enter, but to be honest, I don’t even know any Motorhead songs besides Ace of Spades. Come to think of it, I don’t even like Metal. I’m off now to see what Lady Gaga’s been up to.
Unearth make a surprise move
Shock horror! Another Metalcore band have chosen to work with Adam Dutkiewicz for their forthcoming album. I never saw that coming. In other news; cows go moo, and water is wet.
The hardcore inspired Metallers, Unearth, released the following statement via their Twitter account:
We’ve chosen to work with Adam Dutkiewicz on the new album for pre-pro, tracking and mix. Pre-Pro started last week. Stay tuned for updates!
Therion for Bloodstock 2011
The legendery Swedish symphonic Metallers, known worldwide by all 17 of their fans, Therion are the latest band to be confirmed for next year’s Bloodstock festival in the UK.
Bloodstock is often hailed as the only “true” (insert rolling eyes) Metal festival in the UK, and it shows with the current lineup, which includes Morbid Angel, Immortal, Rhapsody of Fire, and Triptykon so far. Bloodstock 2011 is already shaping up to be a fantastic weekend for British Metalheads.
Therion issued the following statement:
“The band is thrilled to get the opportunity to play the Bloodstock and promise they will impact the island unforgettably”
I guess they really will impact the island unforgettably. I’ll have to mark the date in my diary for sure. If you’re interested, early bird tickets are available now for just £90 from www.bloodstock.uk.com. As the country’s cheapest (big-ish) festival, you’d be mad to pass it up.
