Gwar zombies
Gwar, apart from being the sound I make after I orgasm, also happens to be the name of a band from Virginia. I say “band”, but really they’re just some musically challenged guys dressed up as monsters (no, not Lordi).
The frontman, Cuntus Ordasoras (I may have made that up, but his “name” is equally stupid and frankly I can’t be bothered to type it out) has been officially named Honorary Grand Marshal Of TORONTO ZOMBIE WALK, which I believe can be translated as Grand C*nt of Toronto, but I haven’t got my Gwar-English dictionary on me, sorry.
If you care, which you don’t, you can go read the story at Blabbermouth. Frankly, I don’t recommend it though.
Limps N' Roses
Everyone’s favorite Nu-Metal band (which is a bit like saying everyone’s favorite child molester, lets be honest), Limp Bizkit recently covered Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine at a concert in Moscow, Russia.
The band added their own twist to the song… (Read: Dumbed it down), before breaking into Hot Dog.
Check out the cover after the jump. It’s almost as good as the Axl Rose solo band’s cover (AKA the current lineup of Gun’s N’ Roses). Limp Bizkit don’t walk off stage part of the way through though.
Bad news for music fans
It is with great regret, that DoM must announce today that, according to Kerrang, pop-emo crapcore band, Aiden have announced that they are NOT splitting up, despite apparent rumors.
This post is therefore a tribute to Aiden, who unfortunately are still with us. Our thoughts are with music fans around the world during this difficult time.
Actually, to be honest, who the fuck are Aiden? All I remember is they were huge with 14 year old girls about 4 years ago, and they once did a shite cover of Nirvana’s Drain you. Why am I posting this? Because I can only masturbate so many times in a day before I get bored!
Blast From The Past: Akercocke – Words That Go Unspoken (2005)
For fans of: Opeth / Behemoth / Edge of Sanity
Akercocke is a progressive blackened Death Metal band hailing from England. The band is one of the most original in Metal today, combining elements of Black, Death and Progressive Metal to create something very unique. Akercocke make use of the full frequency range, using the low grunts of Death Metal and the high squeals of Black Metal, with soft intersections associated with Progressive Rock. Akercocke’s music has no boundaries, although the majority of the lyrics draw inspiration from Satanism and sex. Many of the band’s actions and lyrics have faced them with widespread controversy and criticism from Christian groups that fail to get the joke. Anyone that pisses Christians off as much as this band, undoubtedly deserve an award.
Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone is the Akercocke’s fourth album, released in 2005 by Earache Records. It also marks the first album to feature Matt Wilcock (ex The Berzerker), instead of Paul Scanlan on guitar.
Read on to see my review of the album.
Dimmu Borgir who? Korn aren't sure.
Dimmu Borgir may not be a REAL Metal band, but they’re still a REAL band. Well, by real, I mean not make-believe, not that they’re actually any good. Still, you’d think touring with them, Korn would know who they are… Erm well apparently not, as can be seen in the interview with Fieldy after the jump (skip to 6 minutes).
“What do you think about Dimmu ‘Borgir’ and their music?”
“Of who?”
“Dimmu Borgir – the band you’re touring with”
“Oh… I don’t really know…”
