Flyleaf aren't Metal?
To be honest, I have taste, so I never bothered to check out Flyleaf (mostly because their name sucks), but apparently they aren’t Metal at all. How do I know? Because I just found out that not only are they fronted by a woman! (why isn’t she in the kitchen!?), but they’re also a Christian band! Jesus Christ! God almighty Science! what is wrong with Metal today?
Frontwoman Lacey Sturm also moans that no radio stations want to play female-fronted Metal/Rock bands. Wow, that’s funny, because I could have sworn I’ve heard Evanescence, Nightwish, Within Temptation and all those other female-fronted bands that sound exactly the same, on the radio. In fact, I was so sure that female-fronted gothic rock bands were all the rage! Damn, I guess I was wrong, because obviously it’s really tough for Lacey and Flyleaf… Selling all those albums, playing festivals across the world… being interviewed… I must have dreamt those things happened. Of course, if Flyleaf really do struggle to get played on the radio, I’m sure it is because they’re fronted by a woman, and has nothing to do with their bland and boring music…

BMTH bring the noise
Fashioncore band, Bring Me The Horizon, were recently interviewed by Bring The Noise, which sounds like a match made in heaven, since the only thing BMTH bring, is noise (pollution). Ha, I crack myself up…
Apparently my idol Rob Halford likes BMTH, but then he also likes men, so to each their own I guess. Check out the interview after the jump.
Incoming: Kailin
For fans of: I have no idea – Melodic Death Metal? Hardcore? Experimental Metal?
So, you’re probably wondering who Kailin are right? Actually, you probably aren’t, but you damn well should be! The answer is… Honestly, I have no fucking idea, but these guys somehow managed to make it onto my Facebook ‘like’ list, and after checking out their new song, I’m glad they did.
Hailing from my hometown, Worcester, UK, from a look of the band’s Facebook page, Kailin are a band full of personality and passion for the music they play. They have one demo available at the moment, titled Colours, which you can check out after the jump. The song is very promising, displaying some great diversity (always good to see from new talent). The track shifts from aggressive Metal into some fantastic ambient moments, without losing any of its cohesion or aggression. I definitely look forward to the debut EP/LP/whatever the band decides to release, and you should too.

Learn to make noise like Deicide
Have you ever desired to be able to play guitar like Deicide? If you have ears, of course you haven’t, but that hasn’t stopped these guitar lessons making their way onto the internet.
If you want to learn how to play like Deicide, don’t bother with the video. Instead, just crank up your distortion and play any old discordant crap as fast as you can. If it sounds like garbage, you’ve got the sound down to a tee. Congrats and well done.
When asked if the band themselves had considered taking lessons, Deicide refused to comment.
Lessons here.

Masked Metallers Interviewed
No, not Slipknot, but their carbon copy, Mushroomhead, that some how managed to rip off Slipknot 5 years before they formed.
Apparently the oh so original band write, produce and record all of their own material themselves with no outside help, which can really explain a lot.
If you’re interested in where Mushroomhead get the inspiration for their masks from (*cough* Slipknot *cough*), you can find out in the interview after the jump.
