Become Hendrix
For a long time, there has been a black hole, in desperate need of being filled. We’re talking a huge gap here. Something people should have thought of ages ago.
Luckily though, Da Capo Press have come to the rescue to fill that gap, releasing a book all about Jimi Hendrix, entitled Becoming Jimi Hendrix: From Southern Crossroads To Psychedelic London, The Untold Story Of A Musical Genius.
Three things crossed my mind here. One, could they come up with a longer name? Two, haven’t there already been a million books about Jimi Hendrix? I must have been wrong though, otherwise why would De Capo Press feel the need to release one? Thank God they did. And three, why would anyone want to become Jimi Hendrix? Not only is the guy dead (and I’ve heard being dead isn’t much fun), we all know Brad Delson is the true master of the guitar.
I tried reading a book once… I gave up when I couldn’t find where to put the batteries. More info on the book here.
Sebastian Bach blasts UK Magazine
Axl Rose‘s equally washed-up girlfriend mate, Sebastian Bach has recently blasted UK magazine, Classic Rock, for an article they published on Skid Row.
One quote from the article Bach didn’t like reads “When Skid Row found Sebastian Bach, they thought they’d found the rock star who could take them to the big time. What they got was an ego that threatened to destroy the band.”
Bach, in addition, claims that the magazine lies in the article by claiming he ‘ refused to be interviewed for this article because he does not want to live in the past, even though his live set is half songs from the first record.’
Funnily enough though, Bach doesn’t deny the fact he refused to be interviewed, instead just stating that his live set doesn’t just feature songs from his first record. Frankly, that may or may not be true, I don’t care. I have as much interest in seeing Sebastian Bach live, as I have in seeing Axl Rose and some hired musicians turn up late, play two songs and then leave the stage because a few members of the crowd are a little bit pissed the band turned up late.

Sully Erna still modest
Godsmack frontman, Sully Erna, still thinks his new album is the bee’s knees (we don’t). Speaking to MTV, Sully recently admitted that for the time being, his solo work is “his baby”, going on further to say it’s “unlike anything else that’s out there”.
That’s funny, because I could have sworn it was just like Godsmack. Or any other generic American rock band for that matter.

The Absense unleash new video
Melodic Death Metal band (AKA not Death Metal at all), The Absense, another American band that’s ripping off taking influence from vastly superior Scandinavian Metal, have just unleashed their new video for Enemy Unbound, taken from the brilliant new album of the same name.
check out the video after the jump. Or you could just check out Arch Enemy or At The Gates instead. No, but seriously, check out The Absense. They’re awesome.
