Mötley Crüe fans arrested
All 15 existing fans of Mötley Crüe, Poison and New York Dolls were arrested at a concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in New York, last night. Although at first it seemed the fans were arrested for having shit taste in music, it has since transpired that the majority were arrested for underage drinking. The rest are either for things like urinating in public, or minor assault charges.

Wolfmother singer arrested
Make no mistake, despite ripping off Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin (poorly I may add), Wolfmother are about as metal as playing badminton whilst dressed as a girl. But this news is just too interesting (well ok, it really isn’t, but it’s a weekend and news is slow) to not post.
According to NME, the Wolfmother frontman, Andrew Stockdale, was arrested yesterday and fined $350 after getting drunk at a bar, forcing his way on stage while a local band performed a cover of The Beatles’ ‘Let it Be’, singing a drunken version of the song with numerous swearing, and then engaging in a brawl.
What. A. Tit. In the words of Mike Patton in regards to Wolfmother, “are you hearing this shit? What year are we in? Wolfmother, you suck!” Don’t know what I’m talking about? Click.
A video of the drunken act can be viewed above. If you’re wondering what it sounds like, but have the sense not to press play, he sounds as shit as he does with Wolfmother, only he’s drunk and says motherfucker more than Fred Durst on a bad day.
Disturbed frontman grants me my wish
For years, since I heard ‘Down With the Sickness’, I had dreamed of the day Disturbed would break up and never return, and it looks like singer David Draiman may just grant me that wish.
Responding to a fan via Twitter when asked if it’s true that Disturbed might break up, Draiman replied “We don’t know what we’re doing yet. All I can tell you is that we will be gone for quite a while.”
Yes, thank you God science! Thank you. I can only hope this “break” becomes more permanent. For more information on the band’s possible demise, check out Blabbermouth.
Wake up, fuckers
It’s Saturday morning (at least it is in my part of the world), and I’m hoping you’re ready to tell that hangover to fuck off, and blast some modern heavy fucking metal.
This morning I was introduced to a band called Whitechapel. I had heard the name before, probably even heard some of the music, but for some reason I never bothered to really sit down and actually listen to the music, properly. So, I browsed over to Wikipedia and found my answer as to why I never checked the band out – apparently the band are categorized as ‘deathcore’, a genre I’ve just never been able to get into.
I don’t know if the song below is an anomaly, but it sure as hell doesn’t sound too much like deathcore to me. ‘Reprogrammed to Hate’ features Chino Moreno of Deftones fame, and is taken from 2010’s A New Age of Corruption.
Sepultura frontman says metal fans are ‘close minded’
Frontman and vocalist of Sepultura (not Max, the other dude), Derrick Green, was recently interviewed by RushOnRock.com.
Not a whole lot in the interview of interest to me, but if you’re a fan of the new lineup of Sepultura (allegedly their new album is awesome. I have yet to hear it though), you may just want to check it out. Otherwise, an excerpt can be read below.
RushOnRock.com: For a band ever-changing there always will be critics but you must be accustomed to that now?
Green: For sure, and the new style of music, people are very critical. Especially in metal music, I find that a lot of people can be very closed-minded — they want to listen to metal and nothing else, but I’m not like that. I like doing metal music and having a heavy style, but I don’t like to put myself in such a box and be trapped in it, because I’m not like that. I like to do different style of music but I think there’s always room for evolution in the music. I love the old classic bands from the past but I like the new bands a lot too and I’m grateful they’re out there exploring and experimenting.
Personally I like being a close minded metal fan. If I can live an existence of being entirely unaware of who Rebecca Black is, why people are always making Friday jokes I don’t get, and what the latest Lady Gaga song sounds like, then I guess ignorance is bliss. Now, if you don’t mind Derrick, I think I’m going to listen to some Slayer and then finish off by drinking some goats’ blood and telling my friends how dumb they are for listening to pop music.
