Rob Zombie ain’t no Sellout yo
Rob Zombie, otherwise known as ‘that dude from the 90s’ (no, not Fred Durst), has defended his decision to get behind the camera for a commercial for laundry detergent Woolite and says he isn’t a sell out.
Well it’s not like he’s biased though, and I’m sure he didn’t take a huge payment from the company for the commercial. Nah, he did it out of the goodness of his little zombie heart, bless him.
More crap at Blabbermouth.
‘Home of Metal’ 40 years of Heavy Metal
‘I Am Birmingham’ has uploaded a video of the ‘Home of Metal’ the exhibit that’s currently taking place in Birmingham (England) in celebration of the Heavy Metal roots that were born in the Black Country region.
Watch the video above for some cheesy music that doesn’t really resemble Heavy Metal at all and some equally cheesy visual effects.
Tony Iommi has been involved in the project and recently admitted that he actually regards Black Sabbath as ‘heavy Rock’ but is proud to be regarded as a creator of Metal. The exhibition runs until September 25 at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery in Birmingham, England.
Bill Bailey teaches the Devil Chord
English comedian Bill Bailey is hiding in a secret bunker somewhere (I do that too, apart from my secret bunker is my parent’s basement), preparing for his upcoming set at the UK’s Sonisphere festival.
You can watch a video of him above teaching us the wonders of ‘the Devil Chord’ as well as performing a a slightly different version of Slayer‘s ‘Angel of Death’.
Skindred release ‘Cut Dem’ video
Welsh Reggae/Rap/fusion/Ragga Metaller’s Skindred have released the video for their new single ‘Cut Dem’, taken from the band’s fourth album Union Black.
The video itself isn’t anything special, in fact it looks like a My Chemical Romance video. The song also sucks like all Skindred songs, so only check this out if you’re drunk or have terrible taste.
Kerry King’s favorite things
Kerry King of Thrash legends Slayer recently spoke to Spin about his favorite things in the whole wide world and apparently he’s a lot more multifaceted than me (I like beer, sleep, Metal, boobs – that’s about it).
I don’t have the energy to copy and paste everything from the Spin article, besides it being a pointless task anyways, so here’s just a couple of excerpts:
FAVORITE SONG:
“‘Becoming’ by Pantera. Whenever you get asked a question like that this, the answer is whatever comes to mind first. But it’s Pantera and [guitarist] Dimebag Darrell was my boy. It’s one of my favorite Pantera tunes.”FAVORITE ALBUM:
“AC/DC live with Bon Scott, but I did see the movie Beyond The Thunder, and it seems like he would be a cool dude to party with!”FAVORITE WEBSITE:
“Moreliapythons.com. Because I am a better snake breeder than I am a guitar player!”
Wait, what? His favorite website isn’t Dose of Metal? blasphe-fucking-my! Wait, that doesn’t work at all.
