Anvil are super famous

That’s right, if you hadn’t heard, Canadian legends, Anvil, have now progressed from being ‘just famous’ to now being “super famous”, At least that’s what drummer Robb Reiner’s assessment of the band is. Not that he’s biased or anything, of course.

He’s also modest and didn’t feel any pressure with writing the band’s new album, Juggernaut of Justice, released in May 2011.

Well, let’s be realistic. Of course we felt no pressure, because we had the material in hand all along and our mission was to make the most true-to-the-classic-form Anvil album we’ve ever made and we had to make sure that we stood up and that we were gonna be counted this time, musically. We were looking forward to the challenge more than the pressure, you know. We had no choice but to do it and I think that we’re definitely are gonna be counted this time.”

In other news, my lunch is super awesome and I’m just about to wash my super comfortable clothes.

Ever wondered why Slipknot have 9 members?

Have you ever wondered why Slipknot need 9 members in the band? Well, watch the video of the band’s recent performance at Sonisphere above and all becomes clear. It’s obvious the band need a DJ to be able to jump into the crowd and a clown to bang a steel drum.

The Adrenaline Mob Rules

Innovative title right there. I’m a awesome, right? Anyways, Adrenaline Mob, the new band featuring ex Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy and a mob (haha) of other “well known” musicians (Russell Allen of Symphony X, Mike Orlando of Sonic Stump and Rich Ward of Stuck Mojo and Fozzy), have released a cover of Black Sabbath‘s classic track ‘The Mob Rules’.

The cover sucks. Don’t believe me, listen to it below.

Guitarist Orlando was recently interviewed by MetalSymphony.com , and you can read an excerpt of this interview below.

“This band is not in the vein of Symphony X or Dream Theater. It’s more along the lines of, say, Rob Zombie, Godsmack, Disturbed, Black Label Society, Shinedown

Rob Zombie? Shinedown? Distubed? Godsmack? Oh ok, that explains why the cover’s shit then.

Europe will enter the studio

Swedish legends, Europe, responsible for the greatest song of all time,’ The Final (fucking) Countdown’, apparently still exist (news to me) and will be entering the studio soon to record a brand new album. Can I hear a Hell fucking yes? (I really should stop swearing, I don’t want to sound like Corey Taylor or Fred Durst *shudder*)

In other news, the band are also set to release a coffee-table book in August, whatever one of those is, and it will be release in two different sizes. Honestly, they lost me when they said the word “book”. I tried reading a book once, but I couldn’t find the on button, so gave up.

Anyways, you can view an interview with the band’s vocalist Joey Tempest above.

Kreator 14:50 – 15:40
Moonsorrow 15:45 – 16:30
Mastodon 16:35 – 17:35
Legion of the Damned 17:40 – 18:30
