Hear the new Unearth album now
What is this? The new fucking trend? Obviously I’m way out of the loop being an old man, but it seems another new Metal album is available for streaming today. This time it’s Unearth‘s new album Darkness In The Light. To be honest I wasn’t even aware they were working on a new album, which is kind of funny since, knowing me, I probably reported on it a while back and just forgot about it.
Anyways, the album can be streamed in its entirety at AltPress.com.
Hear the new Devin Townsend albums
Now this is more like it, although you can also hear the new In Flames album, I’d personally just skip that and listen to new albums from the Devin Townsend Project. Both Deconstruction and Ghost are out now in most of the world, and will be released in North America tomorrow.
Both CDs are now available for streaming at AOL Music:
Deconstruction: audio stream
Ghost: audio stream
I’ve just given both a quick listen, and they sound fucking insane, which is great, because now I can pretend I’m on mushrooms without being stupid enough to take any. Read more on the albums at Blabbermouth.
Hear the new In Flames album
In Flames, the once innovative Melodic Death Metallers, have made their new new album Sounds Of A Playground Fading available for streaming at AOL Music. The album is out today in most of Europe, and will be released in other parts of the world later this week (North America tomorrow).
If initial reviews are accurate, I wouldn’t bother listening to the new album, it’ll be as crap as their last million efforts. Ok, so I don’t normally trust reviews (apart from my own, because I’m awesome), but In Flames have been one big yawn fest for years now and I can only imagine them declining further. So listen at your own risk.
Heaven Shall Burn guitarist’s new solo project
Guitarist of Heaven Shall Burn, Alexander Dietz, has a new solo project called Erode. He’s been working on an album, which is scheduled to hit stores on July 19th.
As a big fan of Heaven Shall Burn, I decided to check out Erode, but then I came across one problem. Erode aren’t even Metal. It’s Electronic/Industrial instrumental type music, I guess in a similar vein to Nine Inch Nails. That probably brings with it the question of why I’m even posting this when this site is called Dose of Metal, but I guess it’s to cater to the NIN fans, and to warn the rest of you so you don’t make the same mistake I did and waste 5 minutes of your life if this kind of music isn’t your thing.
You can listen to three of Erode‘s tracks over at Facebook.
Slipknot live footage
As we reported the other day, Slipknot made their live return to the stage in Greece on June 17th. This marked the first time the band had performed since the tragic death of bassist Paul Gray in 2010. Crappy fan footage of the event has made its way onto the internet, and you can check out a video of ‘Duality’ above.
You can find more crappy footage, in which my favorite part is the bit that goes “pfffttt BOOM… pfftt BOOM bOOM.. shhh pffft”, and the setlist over at thePRP.
