Chimaira release two new tracks
I don’t know about you, but I have no idea who’s in Chimaira these days, they’ve changed their lineup about four times in the last four months. Is the picture of the band above up to date? Is this “news” even up to date? I have no idea.
Regardless, the band have released two new tracks ‘Trigger Finger’ and ‘Born In Blood’, both of which can be bought from iTunes.
You can check out Youtube streams of the new tracks after the jump.
Down-Loaded
Down and Loaded should get on like a house on fire, in fact they could both merge and form a new band called Downloaded. But lame jokes aside, Duff Mckagan’s Loaded recently joined Down on stage on June 14, 2011 at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, Belgium to perform the Down song ‘Bury Me In Smoke’.
You can view a video of the performance above.
Slipknot are going old school
Slipknot are (or were) performing right now, in Sonisphere Greece, for the first time since the tragic passing of bassist Paul Gray. Needless to say this is a big event for Slipknot fans, and from the looks of early photos, it seems like the band aren’t disappointing.
The band have gone back to their roots and are performing in the same attire they wore on their Roadrunner debut, which call me sad, has got me slightly giddy and excited. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
Find more photos on the Sonisphere Facebook page.
Alestorm storm their way into German chart
According to Blabbermouth, Alestorm, the true Scottish pirate Metallers, have successfully invaded the German charts. Don’t worry Germans, they’re not looting and molesting your women, they’re merely bringing awesome Metal to your music charts.
Back Through Time, the third album from Alestorm, has entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 42. If you have yet to hear Alestorm , why not check them out here when they were featured in our Weekly Dose of Metal.
Trivium release ‘In Waves’ video
Trivum have released the video for their brand new track ‘In Waves’, taken from their forthcoming album of the same name. The album is scheduled to be released August 9th.
First impressions? Well Ha it has breakdowns! Trivium once denied being Metalcore as they “don’t play breakdowns”, so it looks like they’ve changed their minds. Other than that, it pretty much sounds like Trivium, so if you liked the band’s previous work, the chances are you’ll also like the new song. If you disliked their old stuff though (and so you should), then this probably won’t do much to change your minds. I do find it kind of catchy though…
