Metallicanopoly available tomorrow
Personally, I preferred Alex’s title of MonopollicA, but I figured I’d go a different route. Metallica‘s special version of Monopoly will apparently be available to buy from tomorrow.
Will you sue Napster, and make millions (who cares if you lose a few fans along the way right?)? Or will you use the ‘Kill ‘Em All’ hammer and destroy your opponents? Or maybe you’ll pick up first prize in a beauty concert and pick up $100. The possibilities are endless!
Blabbermouth have more news and pictures. I’m just too busy laughing at how ironic this is.
Interview with the ‘Metal as F*ck’ Nergal
SoundShock.com conducted an interview at Metal Hammer’s Golden God Awards with ‘Metal as F*ck’ winner, Nergal of Behemoth. You can view a video of the interview above.
Nergal discusses the possibilities of a new album, and his health improvements. It’s great to see the Behemoth frontman looking and sounding absolutely great. He truly is deserving of the ‘Metal as F*ck’ title, apart from me maybe, because I’ve never won anything in my life 🙁
Drunk man searches for Ozzy
This story is one we can all identify with, I’m sure.
According to the Tahoe Daily Tribune, an 18 year old teenager was arrested early Monday morning after he went on a drunken hunt for Ozzy Osbourne, which led to him throwing a flower pot through the glass panel of a front door at a South Lake Tahoe, California home. And no, it wasn’t Ozzy‘s home.
But honestly, who can say that they’ve never done this before? This used to be a regular Friday night event for me.
The man allegedly caused $8,000 of damage. Read more on the story at Blabbermouth.
Tuesday Trivia: The longest Metal songs ever
So it’s that time again, it’s the weekly feature, Tuesday Trivia, which, erm, we haven’t actually done in a couple of weeks now. Apologies about that, but we are all regular guys, with day jobs, and we’ve all been super busy recently (did I just say super busy? Ugh never mind). But what do you care? I know, I need to stop babbling.
So what’s this week’s Tuesday Trivia on? Well, Metal as a general rule, is an ambitious genre and bands are always trying to out do eachother. Metal also doesn’t confine itself to “rules” and if they want to write a song that’s longer than the average length (which is 3:30 for those interested), then they’ll damn well do it. So, with that in mind, this week’s Trivia is about the longest Metal tracks.
Make the jump for the longest article ever (just kidding, it’s not that long).
Judas Priest clarify “Farewell Tour”
If by “farewell tour” they mean it’s not a farewell tour at all…
Judas Priest have one again decided to clarify the meaning of their farewell tour, on an online posting on their official website. Why? I can only assume some people are still confused. I don’t understand why all the confusion though. I mean, what does “farewell tour” say to you? It means the band are planning a final tour before they go into retirement, doesn’t it? Oh no wait, with Judas Priest it just means that it’s going to be their final world tour, and that they will continue to write music and tour, just not big world tours.
Seriously though, I’m beating a dead horse here, as are the band. We get it, you wanted to hype up a tour by screwing with semantics. Good for you.
“We would like to clarify a situation that seems to be confusing a few people out there.
When we issued our press release to announce the farewell tour – we stated that it was the last major world tour for Judas Priest – nothing has changed – we didn’t say it was the end of the band or that we were going to retire or the band was going to break up……….. Just that it would be the last major world tour we would be doing which is still the case.
We have plans for a new album (which we have already announced in an earlier press release) plus possible future releases and we would still consider doing the odd live show – if it is something special or for a great cause – but no more world tours.”
