What if…
…Linkin Park were actually Metal? Then they might sound something a little like this… Quite the improvement I think you will find.
Get your Metal Blade free sampler
Last week I reviewed a free sampler from Basick Records, and this week legendary Metal label Metal Blade are offering their own free sampler to UK residents (don’t worry rest of the world, you can probably get it too). Unlike the Basick Records sampler, I’m not reviewing it just yet, because A – I’m lazy, and B – I’ve only just found out about it.
You can download the FREE sampler by heading over to Amazon.
And if the price of nothing hasn’t quite convinced you, just check out the tracklist after the jump. It features artists such as As I Lay Dying, Amon Amarth, The Black Dahlia Murder, Primordial and many more.
August Burns Red film new video
August Burns Red have filmed a new music video for their track ‘internal cannon’ this weekend. The song will be the first single from their forthcoming album Leveler scheduled for a June 21 release.
Unfortunately you can’t actually watch the video yet, so that leaves me with very little to say and leaves you with very little to watch. So here’s a video of Lady Gaga’s new song instead, because she’s apparently oh so Metal.
Some guy thinks no one has heard of Megadeth
Some guy (Joe Principe) from some band (Rise Against) I’ve heard very little of, was recently asked in an interview whether the band had faced legal action from Dave Mustaine or Megadeth as their new album is also titled Endgame.
His response was “No, he hasn’t. You know what’s funny?! This kind of goes to show you how many people know about the Megadeth record. It’s like no one… One kid said something, ‘Hey, isn’t that a Megadeth title?’ But other than that, no one knows.”
Oh really, Joe? No one knows about Megadeth‘s latest album? Why don’t you come back and say that when Rise Against have sold 150,000 copies in the US with their album titled Endgame? Because that’s how many copies Megadeth have sold with their Endgame and I’m willing to bet that’s a lot more copies than you’ll ever sell. Perhaps it’s just that Rise Against‘s general target audience is 15 year old girls, and that’s why your fans know nothing about Megadeth. Just a hunch…
This isn’t really news, so God knows why Blabbermouth are posting it. Probably to get a rise out of their users. This does beg the question, however, why am I posting this?
Trivium are recreating
According to Blabbermouth, in a recent interview with Matt Heafy, the frontman reveals that glorified Metallica tribute act, Trivium, are allegedly “recreating everything” on their forthcoming album.
Yes Trivium, by “recreating” I assume you’ll once again be taking what superior bands have already created and will rehash it for the kids too young to notice. Another original concept by Trivium, hooray.
In the band’s defence, they actually claim that’s exactly what they’re not doing. I’ll believe it when I see it though.
