A (new) Perfect Circle album?
Guys, don’t get too excited, but there MIGHT be a new A Perfect Circle album in the pipeline. I know right? Wow… I’m resisting the urge to jack off (although my mom is in the room, so it would be a little weird) and trying so hard to contain my excitement.
I so can’t wait to listen to more boring guitar twiddling with Maynard whining over the top with some vague, cryptic lyrics. Oh my days.
Get the full story here. I’d write more about the story, but I much prefer making subtle jabs at the band and talking about masturbation. I’m a professional, what can I say.
Stream the new Jamey Jasta track
A brand new track from Jamey Jasta’s forthcoming solo album can be streamed over at ARTISTdirect. The song is called ‘Mourn The Illusion’ and is pretty damn good.
I’m definitely going to have to check out Jasta‘s solo album when it comes out (July 26th for those interested). It’s on my list of things to do right after ‘losing my virginity.’
Review: Basick Records sampler
Djent happens to be the ‘in’ thing right now (and I’m also getting déjà vu, because I’ve said this countless times before), and it seems that Basick Records are flying the flag for this movement, being home to a large array of Technical Metal and djent inspired artists. The label are currently offering a free sample album, which you can download for free here, so I figured I’d check it out and offer my thoughts on the download.
The sample contains 10 songs, by 10 different bands. I’ve heard of about 5 of them before, but the other half are all new to me. The download comes in a default format of MP3 at 320 kbps, so you’re getting fairly decent quality here. Make the jump for the review.
Nergal performs with Fields Of The Nephilim
Guitarist and vocalist of the Polish Blackened Death Metal masterminds Behemoth, Nergal, has made his first performance since undergoing a bone marrow transplant last December, with the British Gothic Rock band Fields Of The Nephilim. The video can be found above.
In addition, Behemoth are set to return to the stage in October.
This is all awesome news and it’s great to see Nergal back on the stage killing it. I feel like after I first lost my virginity. Coincidently, Nergal felt like how I felt just before I lost my virginity:
“I don’t remember when the last time I was THAT nervous. First of all, I had to join one of my favorite bands ever, true legends, Fields Of The Nephilim”

Any ways, it’s great to see the man back on his feet and performing again. We all at Dose of Metal wish him the best of luck.

Black Dahlia samples
Ever wanted to sample The Black Dahlia Murder? The band’s new album Ritual, I mean, which is scheduled for a June 17 release in Europe and June 21 release in North America. Well now you can sample every track from the new album over at Amazon.
I know TBDM are Deathcore, and not Death Metal, so as a “Metal elitist” I should probably hate them by default, but I don’t; I love them.
More information can be found over at Blabbermouth.
