Paul Stanley discusses hearing loss

According to Blabbermouth, Paul Stanley, the frontman of Kiss, will be discussing the issue of noise-induced hearing loss, and his own hearing disability, in an interview with CNN’s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta today.

Noise induced hearing loss amongst teens and young adults is a huge issue, and I think it’s great that Paul Stanley is bringing the issue to light. The biggest problem is most likely Kiss‘ music, so it certainly is big of Mr Stanley to take some responsibility. Before you slate me, just look at the evidence. Paul Stanley is half deaf, and he plays in Kiss. And Kiss fans must be deaf, otherwise why would they listen to Kiss? Coincidence? I think not.

Of course, I’m joking and being a little crude, Stanley was actually born deaf in his right ear. Regardless, click the Blabbermouth link if you’re interested.

Jamey Jasta solo trailer

Apparently trailers are hot shit right now. I always thought they worked well for movies, but music, not so much. But hey, what do I know? I still think living with your parents in your twenties and having no girfriend is a good way to live.

So who’s the next star to release a trailer for their upcoming album? Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, who’s debut solo album is scheduled for release this summer. Check it out above.

Dani Filth North American tour blog

It’s bad enough that Metal’s biggest clown next to Fred Durst, Dani Filth, is inflicting a musical massacre over in North America with his band of drag queens, Cradle of Filth, but he didn’t have to write an entire essay on it, Jesus.

If you really want to read Dani’s tour blog (why?) then you can check it out over at Metal Hammer.

It’s not often I get personal on this site, but as an English man, I sincerely apologize on the behalf of Cradle of Filth, and everyone involved in that band, for all the noise pollution they are currently causing in the United States and Canada. I hope you can forgive the UK.

Arch Enemy release new video

Arch Enemy are great; they have a hot female vocalist with a manly voice, just enough to turn me on. Crude and sexist comments aside though, the band have released a video for their new song ‘Yesterday is Dead and Gone.’

According to Blabbermouth the video can be viewed over at www.khaoslegions.com. I’m not entirely sure how you view the video though, since clicking on things and registering goes way beyond my attention span level. Tip for bands in the future, if you want me to check out your new video, don’t make me visit random sites and register and shit, just stream it on Youtube dammit.

Update: The video can be viewed at Metal Hammer.

Blast from the Past: Guns N’ Roses – Chinese Democracy

There were many that thought by the time this album finally saw the light of day, there would actually be democracy in China. Those people were wrong though, because as we all know, the controversial 14 billion-years-in-the-making album finally did find its way onto shop shelves.

This week for ‘Blast from the Past’ I’m going to take an objective look at Guns N’ Roses latest album, Chinese Democracy, released in 2008. Can I go from reviewing albums from the 1980s, to an album from just 3 years ago, and still call it “blast from the past?” Yes, just watch me do it.

So why Chinese Democracy? Well, it’s a controversial album, we’ve just recently interviewed guitarist Bumblefoot, so why not take an objective look at the album. Is it really Guns N’ Roses, or just an elaborate Axl Rose solo album? Is it good, or is it a little crap? Find out after the jump.
