The Haunted reveal new album trailer
This post may be about a new trailer for The Haunted‘s new album, Unseen, but fuck that for a second (Which, funnily enough, is usually how long I last in a fuck). According to Blabbermouth, the album is out today in my country (and tomorrow for you guys in the U.S.), so what happened when I walked into my local CD shop after work today? They didn’t fucking have it! I thought to myself “ah it must not be out yet, I must have got the dates wrong” but I was right after all. Damn CD chain that I probably can’t name for legal reasons, you suck.
So on with the news, because no one wants to read my stupid rants. The Haunted‘s new trailer can be viewed above. It basically features vocalist Peter Dolving telling the viewers how fucking beautiful their new album is, which reminds me, Dose of Metal is fucking beautiful and so is this post, and my penis.
Sylosis release Empyreal video
Everyone, stop what ever the hell you are doing right now, there is something that desperately requires your attention! Some band you’ve probably never heard of (I’ve heard of them though, because I’m awesome like that), Sylosis, have just released a new video for a track called Empyreal. Is it any good? I don’t know, I couldn’t be bothered to stop playing Iron Maiden for 5 minutes to check it out. Just kidding, I did check it out, and it sounds pretty good. A little too Metalcore-y for my tastes, but perhaps it will suit some of your palettes.
Now I could spend another 5 minutes typing all the information on Sylosis and their new video, or I could go back to watching my porn listening to Iron Maiden. Guess which option I chose? Head over to Blabbermouth for more information, if you’re interested.
Happy Mondays
So today is Monday, the start of the week for many of us, and a shitty time for those that it is. I don’t know about you guys, but my Monday has been particularly bad. First, my mom tells me that I owe her rent and that I’m the result of an abortion gone wrong, and then my boss has the audacity to actually ask me to do some work. I mean really? Me do work? Does he not know me?
Yesterday Guido was nice enough to show you the best way to end your weekend, and now I’m going to attempt to show you the best way to start your week. I advise listening to some really upbeat Pop music. Something about fairies and happy things, that will really give you the energy you need for the week. I’m kidding of course; ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for some Metal. Introducing The Red Chord‘s Demoralizer. Now hurry up and click that play button.
Review: Opeth – In Live Concert At The Royal Albert Hall (DVD/CD)
In the words of Mikael Åkerfeldt, Opeth are bringing Death Metal within the walls of fine culture, in their latest DVD release recorded from their concert at the UK’s Royal Albert Hall. Metalheads may be “fucking ugly” (Åkerfeldt’s words again), but the Death Metal on display here certainly is not. Summing up the brilliance of Opeth‘s music as merely Death Metal only tells one side of the story, as they combine the harshest sounds of Death Metal with everything from Prog Rock, to Folk and Jazz, to The Blues. Opeth‘s music is like the Beauty and the Beast of Metal, with equal measures of both beautiful solemn music and brutal beastly Metal.
So how well do the band perform live? Well damn well, everyone should know that, but is this boxset worth your time and money? And how does it compare to past Opeth releases? Only one way to find out… Click that ‘Continue Reading’ button my friends.
Amon Amarth make a good System
Is there no limit to Amon Amarth‘s talent? Not content with writing some of the greatest Metal songs ever, the band have decided to improve other songs. System of a Down aren’t exactly the best band ever, and they’re heavily overrated, but don’t let that stop you checking out Amon‘s cover of SOAD‘s Aerials above. They don’t just cover the song, they completely re-create it into a far superior song.
Right now I’m more confused than when I first saw a picture of Brad Pitt topless when I was 14. It’s a System song, but good… How did Amon Amarth do this!? Should I like it? Of course I should, it’s Amon Amarth!
