Anthrax are Lady Gaga fans?

Ok, so my title there is intentionally misleading, I must admit. Anthrax may be fans of Lady Gaga, or they may not be, but Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante certainly seems to be a fan. Ok, so if we were talking about the vocalist, it could be anyone let’s face it, but this is Charlie Benante, one of the main members and songwriters for the band.

According to Blabbermouth, Benante and his five-year-old daughter Mia attended Lady Gaga‘s concert last night (Monday, February 28) at the United Center in Charlie‘s hometown of Chicago Illinois. Benante claims Gaga gave Anthrax a big shout-out and treated his daughter like a queen, “proving again that she is a metalhead at heart!” – His words, not mine. A photo of the three, can be found after the jump.

This can only mean one thing… Lady Gaga could be Anthrax‘s next vocalist!!!11

Deftones rehash for Record Store Day

As the music industry slowly breathes its last breath, and as people make a movement from quality to convenience, quantity and being general cheapskates, others have tried to celebrate the awesomeness of something or other through an event called Record Store Day, or something… Fuck it, I have no idea what I’m talking about all right, I admit it.

But anyways, a whole bunch of bands will be releasing some exclusive releases especially for some independent retailers for that special day. So if you want some over-priced vinyl, with songs you’ve already had for about a million years, then why not shell out for the Deftones “Covers” LP coming out April 16th (that would be the day of “Record Store Day” duh)? It’ll be totally awesome. Who cares if you already downloaded those tracks, like 5 years ago, for free? Or better yet, bought the B Sides album which already has 70% of those tracks on it? Now is the time to own them on vinyl. Wowzers!1

I’m not even kidding BTW. Every single track on the LP has been heard before. And labels wonder why people have given up on the industry and just download instead. Anyways, the tracklisting can be found above in case you haven’t realized yet.

Anthrax singer is “killing it”

Anthrax vocalist Neil Turbin John Bush Dan Nelson Santa Claus Joey Belladonna is currently in the studio “killing it” according to some recent ‘tweets’ from the man. What, exactly he is “killing” is yet to be confirmed, but I’m going to assume it’s not any of his fellow band-members for making him re-record songs that were written with Dan Nelson on vox.

Anthrax‘s forthcoming album is expected to hit stores before the end of the year and is also expected to kick major ass. Read more general shitaroo over here.

Nu Haunted track posted

Are you ready to hear something you haven’t heard before? Or see something you haven’t seen before? Then get ready to hear Unseen, the title track from The Haunted‘s forthcoming album.

Unfortunately it sounds like Nu Metal trash to me, just without the white rapper that thinks he’s black. But they can’t please everyone though right? Listen to it yourself and you can form your own opinion.

You can listen to the track over at Facebook.

The Black Dahlia Murder are back

Melodic Death Metal Metalcore Deathcore Technical Death Metal Let’s just go with METAL band, The Black Dahlia Murder have just completed the songwriting process for their forthcoming fifth album, which is scheduled for release later this year.

Blabbermouth reports a whole looooad of uninteresting shit, if you care about that stuff, over here.

All I’ll say is, say what you want, but I own two TBDM albums, and not only do they absolutely rock the hell out of most bands, but TBDM also remain one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen.
