Marilyn Manson has plans to invade Europe. Hide your wife and your sons, ’cause shit’s about to get real.

With a freshly announced drummer (Jason Sutter… wait, who?), third-rate art galleries around these towns are also in for it:

June 04 Tilburg, NET – O13
June 05 Paris, FRA – Le Zenith
June 15 Gothenburg, SWE – Metaldown Festival
June 16 Copenhagen, DEN – Copenhell

Check out marilynmanson.com/tour for further updates.

Sol Invicto’s hot

Sol Invicto

Sol Invicto is my favorite singer. She’s got nice beats, good riffs and looks hot. I wonder why she doesn’t actually sing, though. Nevermind, I <3 you Sol Invicto xoxo

Yeah, that wasn’t lame at all. Regardless, the band just released the cover for their second EP, Initium II (preview of which you can listen to here), and also posted an updated cover of the first EP. Both feature the lovely Gogo.

Both can be seen in slightly larger resolutions (and separate files) after the jump.

Corey Taylor can use Twitter, let’s us know he’s working with Dave Grohl

Shocking, right? I didn’t think that Corey Taylor would use Twitter, he seems kinda above it. Like, it’s for people who usually have loads of free time and shitty bloggers, not people as important as Corey, who are always on tour, promoting their books, giving rad speeches, rocking the acoustic guitar or whatevs.

Oh, the other thing… Seems he made a collaboration with none other than Dave Grohl and Butch Vig, and people are speculating it’s got something to do with Grohl’s other recent team project, a song with Ratt, and that in fact it might be revival of Grohl’s Probot project.

Anywho, the tweet:

HUGE checks off the Bucket List today- did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words ‘holy shit’ say enough about it?!?

Randy Blythe speaks on internet censorship, gets our respec’

Randy Blythe (Lamb of God)

Sure, we’re there to make fun of Lamb of God and related people every now and then, but after reading the article on Noisecreep where Randy, an anti-piracy advocate slams SOPA on pretty much all grounds and says he’d rather starve than let censorship in through the back door, I felt nothing but respect. I also got a little hard, but don’t tell anyone.

Since it’s related to today’s theme (which is SOPA and apparently the fact that Staind and Godsmack have no ideas left), I’ll cover a few quotes from it:

“Never ever, ever, ever,” states Blythe on whether he’d ever support such legislation. “I would rather starve. I’ve been poor plenty of times. I was poor for a long, long time in this band, literally homeless at times. I’m not particularly worried about getting rich, that’s not why I do this. I make a good living, a lot of people don’t. I’m not a millionaire, but I’m quite comfortable now after 16 years of being in this band.

“I’ve been to China. I know what happens there. I’ve been all around the world to places where you can’t get this and can’t get that and I’m like, ‘Really?’ It seems like such a weird innocuous thing to me coming from America. I refuse to support anything that will further censorship whether it be government or corporate. I mean, we’re being sold enough s— as it is.”

“Would I like to live comfortably in a nice house as an indentured servant or would I like to live in the ghetto as a free man? I’ll take the ghetto any day.”

Word.

Dose of protest

Again, keeping with today’s theme, I was thinking of other stuff I could post, and it led me to metal protest songs. I guess you could pick from a variety of themes (not like metal isn’t abundant in “fuck yous,” especially in the religious department) and bands, but I went with Sepultura.

For some maybe surprisingly, but to me this band always had a dose of subtlety to their political songs, mostly because they never went so far as to tell you what to do or think, or explicitly say which side to take, unlike, I don’t know, probably the most obvious choice, Rage Against The Machine (talking about the feeling I get when listening said bands, don’t take this as fact, dumbass).

Slave New World seemed fitting for today, so enjoy it, and don’t forget: FIGHT THE POWAH! BRING THA SYSTEM DOWN! ALWAYS QUESTION AUTHORITY!!1!!!!1
