Queen performs at the EMAs

The legendary Queen (or what’s left of it) have performed a medley on this year’s European Music Awards in Belfast. Unfortunately, they still haven’t figured out a way to resurrect dead people, so no second coming of God Freddy Mercury for now. Instead, they’ve had help from an American Idol finalist, Adam Lambert.

I know what you’re thinking, so let me beat you to it:

1) The guy looks like a crossover of a goth chick and Elvis Presley

Still…

2) Dude can sing. I mean, we can make fun of American Idol all we want, but the guy obviously has a strong voice.

Which finally leads me to

3) Hoping they keep this a “one off” type of a deal and don’t get any crazy ideas.

You can watch the video of the performance above, thanks to Blabbermouth for the heads up.

Rammstein to drop a schlager this Friday

Rammstein are releasing a greatest hits collection on December 2, titled Made in Germany 1995-2011. To make this sort of worth your money, the collection will also feature a new song, Mein Land (German for My Country, boom, how awesome am I for knowing this).

The single (and the video) for the song will be released this Friday (11.11.11.), and the promos for it have been pretty funny, in a typical Rammstein-y ironic manner. Wanna see Rammstein go Baywatch? Someone’s compiled all the promos for it so far, and you can watch them in the clip above.

If you make the jump, you can also find the cover artwork for the single, which explains the “schlager” in the post title. If you have no idea what a schlager is, you are definitely not from a German speaking country or a former Yugoslavian one, but luckily, Wikipedia speaks English.

Friday Top 10: Worst grindcore band names

I respect your feelings as a woman.

This week we’re all about love death: Guido’s been keeping your daily dose of death metal on steady supply so far, and I’ve sort of touched on a “grind” subject in this week’s Tuesday Trivia.

I promised I might make a Top 10 out of it (any grind variation included), and I’m a man of my word. I’m also pretty lazy, so this turned to be the perfect Top 10 for me: it’s going to be short and disgusting. Read on.

Megadef release video for Public Enemy No. 1

Why Megadef? Well, you might remember my theory on the death of Tupac Shakur if you follow this site. Thug life, bitches.

I wanted to write a follow up which would deal with Dave’s connections to 9/11 too, but embedding a video from Yahoo has left me no fucking space and it even crashed my Flash plugin. Let’s just remember Dave is an Alex Jones nut, or that’s what he wants you to believe in. #911wasalie #mustainedidit #publicenemyno1

Here’s something that totally justifies Lulu

Is that you, Lulu?

Lou Reed and Metallica have tapped (payed huge amount of money to) Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream) to direct a video for Iced Honey.

Wow, holy shit you guys… Everything’s so great again! We totally don’t mind Lulu now.

Seriously though, if anything, his style of directing can only enhance the whatever atmosphere the track has. Which I’m afraid isn’t a good thing. To be honest, I still have to listen to the whole album, but if The View’s anything to go by, then all my joking around is totally justified. Speaking of “justified” I’m off to listen to some real music now.
