American Head Charge, recharged

American Head Charge

I wanted to do a Drawn Together inspired “Now where they at?” where I’d choose a band that’s kind of forgotten, dig up some info and then possibly laugh at them. My laziness sometimes pays off, because I didn’t have to scroll long in my music library, and right under A, I found something — American Head Charge.

If you jump into the DeLorean with me for a second, you’ll remember this band as the one that (somewhat strangely) got lumped with the post 2000 nu metal wave, and that they had more bad luck than people who came early for a Guns N’ Roses show. I am of course, referring to a shitload of band member changes (and the death of their guitarist in 2005), but what shocked me is that completely missing my radar, this band managed to break up in 2009, and actually reunite earlier this year.

I don’t know if I just made your day better or worse (I’m kind of meh since they lost their clown make up a while back, so there’s not much for me to make fun of), but the band is officially back, and as of now, they’re planning a small tour starting in October. You can find more information on their official Facebook page, and you can see two videos that make me think of high school right after you make the jump.

Loureedtallica website goes live

Lou Reed and Metallica

We’ve covered Metallica‘s “super secret” project that turned out to be a collaboration with Lou Reed before, and now we’re doing it again. Why? Because they have a website out.

The website is so amazing, that if you take a moment to imagine the words LOU REED AND METALLICA and COMING SOON next to the photo above, there’s not a single reason to visit it, because that’s all there’s to it at the moment. If you still for some reason want to see it for yourself, head over to loureedmetallica.com!

Steel Panther FOR TEH PARTEE

I wonder if FTP (for the party) is a real acronym or did I just blow everyone’s mind again… Nevermind. What you see above is Steel Panther, a “hair metal revival” band performing with Sebastian Bach (ex-Skidrow) and singer Cee-Lo Green at a show in Holywood last night.

As easy as it is to make fun of them — I won’t. I mean, look at the clip. They’re obviously having fun, and they obviously have more girls on stage than I’ve ever been able to make verbal contact with. All I have is this room, a computer and hair loss issues. Goddammit.

You can find more videos from the performance here.

Audiorama

Keeping up with horrible puns, here’s another post. I combined audio and panorama, and got an ‘awesome’ title — audiorama. One more? I combined horrible and comedy, and got the following — Dane Cook. Press.

The thing above is the new Deftones video for Beauty School, so we even have a little videorama going on, nice. If you make the jump, you’ll get to hear/see a bunch of other lame ones! Awesome!

Streamaira

Chimaira

Stream + Chimaira = Streamaira. Wow, just where do I come up with this shit?

Anyway, 1 + 1 = 2 (and 1 = 0.999), so it’s pretty clear what I have for you today: Online stream of the entire new Chimaira album, The Age of Hell! You can check it out right here.
