Jane’s new irresistible video
…is not actually a video, it’s a “lyric video.” I guess the band has figured out that making music videos simply doesn’t impress anyone anymore, so for their new song, Irresistible Force, they just hired someone to do a better job than the usual YouTube clip done in iMovie or iFilm or Windows Movie Maker with slapped subtitles in Comic Sans or whatever. Which is fine by me, because a) If I play music over YouTube, I never usually look at the clip, so b) this gives me the incentive to pay more attention to the song itself.
You’ve probably noticed a lot of bands have started doing this recently, I guess because of the YouTube generation and the shortened attention spams of people on internet generally. Kinda funny how things change, and kinda sad I remember the “good times.” Getting old.
Update: So I watched the video again, and noticed that in the end it says an official “real” video will be coming soon. Getting dumb.
The end for IWRESTLEDABEARONCE
Bro-metal dudes IWRESTLEDABEARONCE might as well start drawing sad mustaches on their faces, because the end for them is near: Their latest “ironical” album Ruining it for Everybody cracked the US Top 100.
In hipsterverse, this means they just crossed the border to mainstream, therefore they lost the only idiot audience they’ve ever had. RIP and good riddance.
Fear Factory working on new album
Fear Factory is one of those bands whose music is as heavy as its members. Which means really, really heavy. And we at Dose of Metal liked Mechanize as much as Dino likes to eat. Which means really, really much. That’s why we’re excited as fuck about Dino’s latest tweet:
“Working/Demoing new Fear Factory today”
which he posted a few minutes ago. I’ll speak for myself when I say this album gave me more orgasms than my blow up doll, so naturally, I can’t wait. How ’bout you?
Tuesday Trivia: Metal games
Hey, what’s your favorite metal game? Mine include:
- moshing with metal attachements on my boots
- throwing a glass beer bottle at a concert behind me and seeing how many people bleed
- kicking a wigger
I’m kidding of course. Except maybe for the last one. The games we’ll be covering today have nothing to do with concerts. In fact, they’re my favorite games — the ones that don’t make you leave the house. Make the jump and get familiar with some of the heavy metal video games.
How’s Sepultura changing their lineup still news?
Seriously, when Sepultura changes a band members, that shouldn’t be news. When they change a band member temporarily, even less so. But, it’s a slow news day and nothing’s going on, plus it’s hot and I need to take my mind off of it.
The story – Sepultura’s current drummer fill-in Jean Dolabella got his arm hurt, so he couldn’t keep doing his job. Solution? The band called their good buddy Igor Amilcar Christófaro from Torture Squad, and he’s doing an awesome job and shit. I never knew Sepultura’s music was that easy to replicate, but you get disappointed in things throughout life. Next time, I’ll tel you a little story about Jesus. Anyway, if you make the jump, you can see a video of the new guy.
