You only live once, right?

Suicide Silence

Much can be said of Suicide Silence, the real question is if anything good would be among those things. Well, let’s take a quick look: deathcore therefore easy to take stabs at – check; looks meant for easy jokes – check. I mean, seriously, put a shirt on. But what about the music? Don’t look at me, I’m superficial and judge people only by their looks.

All kidding aside, I’ve heard a few things by them before and I wasn’t overtly impressed, so I had a hard time giving their new song a chance (especially because you have to “like” them on Facebook in order to do so), but boredom combined with slow internet (therefore no porn :'( ) prevailed and I clicked the button. What can I say, you only live once (which is also the name of the track… genius), and the song is actually not that bad. Well, it actually sounds like a song as opposed to a random combination of 23 breakdowns. So if you’re also bored and can’t watch porn at the moment, go here and give the song a listen.

Vild-who-arta?

Vildhjarta (or at least a few members of the band)

Vildhjarta fans, rejoice, ’cause your band just got a deal of the lifetime — a record deal. According to a retweet of a tweet I stumbled upon earlier, the band has signed on with Century Media which will be handling the worldwide distribution of their as-of-yet non-released (duh) studio debut, Irreversible. Hopefully, along with the album, they also get to release some promo photos I can use which can actually fit all band members in them.

Who are Vildhjarta, you might be wondering? Sit down, and prepare better for next time, padawan, because we’ve featured them before when we covered djent for the first time. Trendcore whore? No, these guys are really good and they’ve been doing their thing for a while now, plus djent is djust a dumb label, so go and can check them out on their Facebook page or their website.

Chimaira: new album complete.

Metal?

I should seriously get payed for all the free promotion I do for Chimaira. I don’t even like the band that much. Not at least since around the middle of the last decade (old much?). In fact, I’ve probably written ten times more posts about them than I’ve had sex in the last six months. Which is kind of a paradox, because if you multiply zero by ten, you get a zero, and I’ve clearly written a few posts about them on occasion. Explain that!

Nonetheless, the news. If you already read the post title, you know it, Chimaira have completed their new album, and they announced it via a tweet earlier tonight, which surprisingly says:

“new album complete.”

Exciting news, right? Yeah, Chimaira releasing a new album isn’t really exciting by any standards nowadays, but at least you got to see puppies in a basket. How often do you get a chance to see that shit, ha?

Roy Mayorga is feeling better

Roy Mayorga (Stone Sour)

In case you haven’t heard, Roy Mayorga, the drummer for Stone Sour, suffered a mild stroke a few days ago. Don’t worry, he’s feeling better and he’s on his way to a full recovery, but in the meantime, a first photo of him in the hospital has surfaced. Where is it, you might ask?

On Blabbermouth, of course, next to the photos of Schwarzenegger’s illegitimate son. Click.

Ever wanted to see Ozzy open a CD box?

Me neither, that’s why we won’t be looking at it here. Here’s a video mashup of Ozzy and Dio performing a true classic. Yeah, inspired by Guido’s post earlier today, I’m trying to stir some shit up. Or am I just remembering our fallen metal heroes? Good metalhead. Fight. Sit.

But, to address a certain doubt that arose once I saw the article promoting some new Ozzy shit, yes, he can actually open a CD/DVD/deluxe boxset for whatever he just released, without medical assistance. Cool, huh?
