Muse are worried
When I read about Muse complaining about their high powered live shows, I immediately thought the band are on a quest to go green and lecture us about it along the way or something. I was wrong.
Rockers Muse worry about the effects their elaborate stage shows have on their health – they’re convinced their powerful lasers will one day blind them.
“We got some big white balloons, threw them into the audience and decided to focus the lasers on them. It was like a slow burn that gradually disintegrated them into nothing. We all thought, ‘What the hell will our corneas be like in 20 years?’” drummer Dominic Howard said. “We could end up like that amazing vocal group the Blind Boys of Alabama – getting around doing it really well but not seeing anything.”
I don’t know what their corneas might look like in 20 years, but “Suppermassive Black Hole” might get a new meaning.
Can’t get enough of Linkin Park?
Then you’ll be happy to read this — the band is teaming up with a group of “official bootleggers,” to bring you their live experience™ directly after the show.
Rockers Linkin Park have teamed up with a group of official bootleggers to make sure fans attending their upcoming shows get a live recording of the concert – for free.
The complimentary download of will be available to fans who simply send a text message to a short code displayed at each venue. A link will then be emailed to them following the concert.
“Official bootleg.” That sounds wrong to me, like “Rockers Linkin Park,” or “Linkin Park the band.” But, hopefully more bands pick this up so we get less people with their phones making unusable recordings and me getting annoyed by it. See an example after the jump (warning: you’re about to get a dose of Linkin Park’s Live Experience™).
Remember Glassjaw?
You know Glassjaw, right? The band that’s been making their new album for the past decade or so. Well, I don’t know what I missed in 2010 (besides regular sex, a good job and true love :(), but the guys are doing something unimaginable: releasing new shit.
A few days after the release of their “Our Color Green” EP, comes a new song, “Gold.” The new song will be featured on an entirely new (and free) EP they will be releasing at live shows exclusively, called “Coloring Book.” I think I see a pattern, and it includes colors. Yours truly, Captain Obvious.
Tickets on their website, more info here, and the song after the jump.
Tuesday Trivia: Harder better faster stronger
Did you know that Daft Punk are making a heavy metal album?
Haha, just kidding. Imagine… But did you know that metal can indeed make you faster (if you’re a termite), slower (if you’re a mouse) and amazing (if you are me). Make the jump and see why.
Kiss garden gnomes. For real.
We’ve had boots, guitars, condoms and coffins. Is there anything really left for Kiss to exploit brand and sell? Of course there is. Garden gnomes.
You’ve heard it right, garden gnomes. So if you want to scare off people coming to your frontyard, be careful and keep your eye on kissonline.com. Now excuse me, I’m too busy ordering my Kiss toilet paper to wipe my ass off with, feel free to make the jump and see a bigger image of the aforementioned gnomes.
