Shocking: Aaron Lewis is a country music star
Oh my god, how could this happen? It’s not like the last Staind album to have proper heavy music was released about ten years ago, nooo sir. And it’s not like each new album after that sounded more and more acoustic and 3-doors-downier than the last.WHERE DID THIS COME FROM?
In case you’ve missed the sarcasm, Aaron Lewis‘ latest (and also very natural) step in his musical career was to record a country album. And apparently, he made the right choice, because he’s making money. And at the end of the day, that’s the only thing that matters, right? The cycle is complete.
P.S. Make the jump to see his video for “Country Boy,” named like that just so the people in Texas wouldn’t get confused as to whether this is a rock or a country album when they recognize Aaron‘s fat face.
Friday Top 10: The year 2010 in metal
2010. Not as good as 2001, but still okay. Can you believe the year is coming to and end? I barely can. And then I got the job to compile a list of the most important things that happened this year. When I say the most important, I mean the most important in metal. No matter what your mom tells you, nothing is more important than metal.
Make the jump to see what made the list, and bitch about the things that haven’t.
Interview & Review: Nuclear
If you don’t already know, Nuclear are a thrash metal band from Chile. I was fortunate enough to give their new album Jehovirus a listen (and one more, and one after that), and do a quick interview with Matias (vocals) and Francisco (guitars), read it after the jump.
Tuesday Trivia: Everyone in Sweden listens to metal
Well, I promised this article last week, didn’t I? You think I was kidding? Anyway, I just love writing for this site, it makes me get away with so much stuff. In case you are really wondering, no, the above sentence is not true. My careful research shows that there are few people (and I suspect Eastern European immigrants, hello to my cousins) who spoil the ratio of thousand metalheads to one Lady Gaga fan. For (only slightly) more accurate info, read on.
Black Sabbath news
Well, only 50% of the post title is true. It is news, but it regards a 40 year old song. According to The Metal Den, they have obtained what they believe is one of the earliest and rarest bootleg recording of “Hand of Doom,” back from 1970. The details of whereabouts and the exact date of the recording are unknown, but the quality is pretty good. So, that’s the Black Sabbath tidbit for today. Expect more news in 2012, and hopefully Dr. Ozzy‘s tips pay off so we might actually see these guys breathing then.
