Rammstein sell out…
…the concert at Madison Square Garden, in 30 minutes time.
Tickets sold out in only thirty minutes for the legendary German band Rammstein‘s December 11 performance at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden in New York City. This will be the only U.S. show by the Berlin-based six-piece band, which has not performed in the United States since 2001.
When asked why they decided to come to Amerika, the singer answered: “They have a pussy, we have a dick-aaah”. You figure out the clever metaphor.
Free shit
Dose of Metal, bringing you exclusive news. Almost two days after they happened…
This time around it’s the new Severed Fifth album, which was released (for free) yesterday. Or the day before yesterday, depending on what time it is where you live. Either way, go download it. Album features Jim Adams (of Defiance) on a couple of tracks, and feels more thrashy and Bay Area than the first release (read: vocals sound a bit Hetfieldesque, so to say).
There was an interview planned with the band himself, Jono Bacon, but I don’t know what happened with that. I can’t be a music journalist and an investigative journalist at the same time. Fuck you too.
Tony Iommi is writing again
…so the new Black Sabbath album could potentially see the release around the time of their 50th anniversary. But don’t get your hopes up too quickly, because currently only Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler are involved.
Dose of Metal will keep an illegal gambling operation regarding this issue, make a guess, take a bet and if you win, you get a very special prize. Find out what it is after the jump.
Attack rescheduled, UK safe (for now)
The test of true metalhead. Pictured above is:
a) a catholic girl school choir
b) group photo of random Hot Topic employees
c) UNICEF’s campaign photo for scene kids beatdown prevention (titled: “It’s bad enough for them having to pay huge electricity bills due to hairdryer overuse)
In case you said a, b, c, all three combined or shit, you are a metalhead. In case you said Attack Attack! you are a scene kid and you should stop wearing roadkill on your head.
For the normal folk out there, Attack Attack! is that band who was famous for about five minutes last year when they released Stick Stickly video and invented the crabcore subgenre (33% metalcore, 33% electronica, 33% crab… and 100% crap).
Now, I didn’t know these guys still existed, let alone toured, but it seems to be the case. Anyway, the scene kids in UK might slit their wrists, while the rest of you can pull out those earplugs, because they canceled their UK tour (for the moment).
“We are super bummed that we had to postpone due to Johnny’s illness, but we are more excited than ever to have the shows rescheduled already. The UK has been a huge priority for us for a long time and we’re not going to let anything stand in our way. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets so far in advance, and we look forward to seeing all of you soon!”
We’re not too sure if a broken vocoder or a bad case of crabs could be counted as an illness, but so be it. In case you are bored and want to see the infamous lulfest that the video is, make the jump.
XYZ to film an "80's" live DVD
If you’re anything like me, you’ve never heard of the “3-D” band XYZ. And if you’re anything like me, you’re not much of a fan of the 80’s (the aesthetics, to be clear… just look at that photo). So, if you shared my opinion both times, you might as well not read the rest of these news.
’80s rockers XYZ return to Denver after a 17-year absence to play the legendary club Bangles on Friday, October 22. In what promises to be an amazing night, the band has decided to document the evening.
“We will shoot a live DVD and record a live CD that night. XYZ live in Denver. So it’s simple. In order to be ‘in’ that night, you will have to dress up totally ’80’s. It should be a lot of fun. Girls, mini-skirts and white pumps. Guys, well, I don’t know… Hide your beer guts, ha ha”.
Ha ha indeed. Anyway, if they don’t use this unique opportunity of bringing back the 80’s and film the show in 3D, they’ve failed their generation. And this one. More info here.
