The greatest band alcohol ever ruined?

Heavy Metal group Nevermore have been referred to as “the greatest band alcohol ever ruined” by vocalist Warrel Dane, in a recent interview for ProgPower USA XII. Yes, even better than the 4 million other Metal bands to be ruined by alcohol (or drugs).

Dane comments that the band are far from over, though, and that there will definitely be a new album at some point. You can view the interview over at Blabbermouth.

Yep, Diamond Head joined the jam

Okay so maybe not all of Diamond Head, just guitarist Brian Tatler.

Now, I have updated the original post about this but hey, Metallica.com has some awesome photos up so I stole got a couple of them to post here.

Megadeth’s new album has a title

Megadeth‘s new album has a title. And the title is: 13

Yep. That’s all. I wanted to add some snide comments, but I actually like it. Short, easy to remember, let’s just hope it kicks ass.

Isn’t Dave superstitious though? Or is he doing reverse psychology on bad luck? The cover should be a broken mirror with a black cat on it, or something.

So the album is almost finished. It has a title. And an estimated release date (November). All they need now is announce the exact day of release.

It’s been a couple of productive years for the four bands. Unlike me, I’ve been slacking since the mid 80s.

Will Diamond Head join The Big Four jam?

I actually wanted to go to Knebworth for Sonisphere, but couldn’t. Man, am I going to regret this…

Diamond Head (whose ‘Am I Evil’ song is usually played when the four bands jam) will play on the same stage as Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica. So will they join the jam at the end?

The video above with David Ellefson and Shawn Drover of Megadeth seems to hint towards that idea. It would be pretty epic indeed, and I don’t see why they wouldn’t.

I hope it will be pro shot so we don’t have to witness it via godawful cellphone footage.

UPDATE: Metallica.com confirms that Brian Tatler of Diamond Head joined the jam.

Speaking of Sonisphere, other musicians playing that festival were asked to pick their favorite Big Four band. Their quotes, after the jump.

The Prince of Darkness is richer than you

This is what Ozzy Osbourne drives. You’d expect him to roll around in a Batmobile type of car or something, but nope, he owns a Ferrari 458 Italia.

Being a Black Sabbath vocalist reality TV star sure pays well, huh?

I wouldn’t trust Ozzy on a bike, let alone a 568 hp beast. But hey, it’s not like he ever hit anyone or anything. Oh wait, yes he did. Shit.

This does beg the question, why is he driving around in a Ferrari and not in a Lamborghini Murciélago? Murciélago means bat in Spanish, so you know, seems a bit more fitting.

Anyway, if you live in the Los Angeles area and see a black Ferrari do what Mark does when he sees a girl:  RUN.
