¿Dónde Están los Ladrones?
Rob Zombie‘s Muppet character bassist, Piggy D, is the victim of a victimless crime. His mask got stolen in Spain, hence the Spanish title. Ole.
Piggy, in true ‘rockstar’ fashion, got some very warm thoughts towards the thief:
“Dear prick who stole my skull mask from the stage in Spain, [I] hope [you] get the black plague, and all your teeth fall out of your head. GFYS.“
Read full article here.
Two things. One: Isn’t GFY enough? Yourself is a single word, why would he need the S? Two: If you do find the mask, make sure you contact him here.
Also, if you’re wondering what the title means, it’s “Where are the thieves?” or something. It’s the title of a Shakira album, not that I’d know anything about that. I swear to God I’m a metalhead. You don’t believe me? Fuck you, I don’t have anything to prove to you…

Scott got a little Ian
We’re a bit late on this, because Scott Ian’s music just interests us a bit more than his private life, but we at Dose of Metal want to take this moment to congratulate Scott Ian and his wife Pearl Aday because on June 19, at 10:19 am, the couple welcomed their first child, Revel Young Ian.
In a couple of tweets, Ian posted:
“Happiest day of my life.”
“Thank you all for the kind words. Life was good and it just got a whole lot better. Cheers.”
Now, just imagine growing up with your daddy being Scott Ian and your grandpa being Meat Loaf, Pearl’s father. If this kid doesn’t grow up to be a kickass musician, I’m disappointed.
Zakk Wylde talks about Randy Rhoads
According to Zakk Wylde and his interviewer, Randy Rhoads ‘flourished’ only after he joined Ozzy.
In a recent interview, this is what the former Ozzy guitarist had to say about, well, the former Ozzy guitarist before him:
“Nothin’ for nothin’, the best thing for Randy was hookin’ up with Ozzy. […] Neal Zlozower [famous rock photographer] had seen him and he goes, ‘I know you love Randy and he’s your guy but I saw him back in the day with Quiet Riot and it was just like, ehhh.’“
Read full interview here.
Quoting photographers and using that as an argument about a guitarist’s value. Cool. Were there any cameramen there, too? I’m sure they have a lot of input on Randy’s pre-Ozzy sound.
Listen, Zakk Wylde is a great guitarist and I respect his opinion on other guitar players, but who the hell cares what that Neal guy thinks of any guitarist? I’d like to see him take some criticism on photography from Kirk Hammett and Angus Young. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?
Wait, that’s a saying about equal rights amongst sexes, isn’t it? Why do I try to sound smarter than I really am? 🙁
Iron Maiden will release a book that has photos
If you ever wanted to spend money on yet another item with Iron Maiden‘s name on it, you’re in luck. They’re releasing a photographic book with photos from John McMurtrie (their official photographer). This is what their website is saying:
“On Board Flight 666 charts the extraordinary journey of Iron Maiden in their specially customized Boeing 757, piloted by lead singer and airline Captain Bruce Dickinson. Traveling across 5 continents, twice around the globe to undertake two World Tours, John’s pictorial odyssey maps their progress from Ed Force One’s historic take-off in January 2008 on the groundbreaking Somewhere Back In Time Tour through to 2010/11’s The Final Frontier World Tour in support of their fifteenth and most successful chart studio album to date, The Final Frontier (August 2010) which reached No 1 in at least 28 countries.“

They also give you an 18 page preview, which you can get here. They say “Warning: This is a spoiler!” near the link, as if this was the final book of Harry Potter or something, and god forbid should you find out how it ends (probably a photo of them getting off the plane or something). Relax, jeez.
Speaking of Maiden, tonight’s Top 10 will be Maiden-related, so make sure you check us out a bit later on…
Meshuggah rock Metaltown
Apparently Metaltown is actually a festival in Gothenburg, Sweden, not an actual Metal town. That’s a shame, because a pure town of Metal would kick ass. No longer would I have to wake up to the sound of my neighbour listening to Take That, then proceed to vomit, and have to listen to Amon Amarth to stop the sickness, before I leave my house to be surrounded by old farts moaning about my music.
Regardless, Meshuggah recently kicked ass as the Metaltown festival, and fan-made footage can be viewed above, which I guess you should check out. Or don’t, I still get paid at the end of the week (no, wait, no I don’t :().
More footage can be found at Blabbermouth.
