No new Perfect Circle album

According to A Perfect Circle guitarist guitarist Billy Howerdel, the band are close to completing work on an as-yet-untitled new song, however don’t expect the band to record a new album any time soon. And don’t go asking why, because it’s all your fault.

“I like records,” Billy comments. “I still like records. I have great memories of having anticipation of hearing a whole album and ingesting it slowly and drinking it all in. To me, I have desires of making a record, but it just doesn’t seem like people are interested. It just seems that everyone likes to digest things much quicker and have less patience.”

So there you go people. If you want band’s to record new albums, give them some incentive. Or if you don’t care, then continue downloading the odd random song. No, but seriously, if A Perfect Circle want to record a new album, then they should just go ahead and do it instead of making excuses. I suppose the fact they currently have no record label also has nothing to do with it…

But why am I commenting? I don’t even like A Perfect Circle, they bore me rigid. Sorry fans.

David Ellefson got a new job

Well, don’t worry, he’s still in Megadeth, I just like misleading titles. It gets us more views and I have no shame.

Apparently David’s been asked to interview people at the Golden Gods Awards and there are A LOT of clips of him talking to various musicians (just like the one above).

I could embed all of them after the jump, but it would make the whole thing kind of awkward and hard to follow, so just go here and browse on the right for whatever clip you want to see.

Metallica will play another corporate gig

I always thought the beauty of being as big as Metallica was not having to compromise your integrity for money, since you’re making enough on your own. I guess I was wrong.

Metallica are playing their second corporate gig in less than a year. This time they can’t even hide behind the Guitar Hero excuse.

It all started when Kirk mentioned that his next door neighbor had invited us to play at his party in San Francisco and we figured “why not?” After all, it has been quite some time since we’ve played in our hometown, and we haven’t exactly been getting out a lot lately.  Well, it turns out that Kirk’s neighbor, Marc Benioff, is the top dog at a “small” company called Salesforce.com and his shindig actually lasts for four days and hosts over 30,000 people!  So much for a little backyard barbeque

Read full statement here.

So it’s not like it was a negotiated thing or anything. Kirk’s neighbor just asked if one of the biggest bands around could attend his bbq, Kirk said yes, then they realized it’s for Salesforce.com. Don’t blame them, it was an accident. Money good.

I have a lot of Monopoly puns in my head right now, but I’ll save them for later. The good news is that if you’re in MetClub, they’re giving away ‘hundreds’ of tickets for this thing, so check that out. At least they take care of their fans, which is always nice.

Nirvana’s Nevermind will turn 20

Nirvana‘s classic album, Nervemind, was released on September 24, 1991. I bet Michael Jackson loved the cover.

Anyway, if you do a little math, it will turn 20 this September. Will someone try to milk the occasion and milk this some more? Of course.

Universal Music Enterprises is pleased to announce the 4-CD/1-DVD Super Deluxe Edition of Nirvana‘s Nevermind available September 19, 2011, in the U.K. and September 20, 2011, in North America. The CDs will include previously unreleased recordings, rarities, B-sides, BBC radio appearances, alternative mixes, rare live recordings and an unreleased concert in its entirety on DVD.

Aww, isn’t that sweet? A lot of shit I don’t care about repackaged so we all buy this thing yet again. And people say record companies are greedy.

Speaking of this album though, read Guido’s Tuesday Trivia about a certain musician being in the video for ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit.’ Although you probably did already, cause you’re a fan of this site and we own.

Anthrax drummer down with technology

Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante is no stranger to technology. Maybe just HD technology. Cause he launched his own motherfucking YouTube channel, yo. And you can see a lot of videos of him (like the one above).

The only problem is that all videos are 360p and look like they’re from the early days of YouTube. A bit of HD content can’t hurt, you know? Hopefully he’ll do that soon.

Anyway, check it out if you have the chance.
