Metallica fans will buy anything with Metallica‘s name on it. So Metallica make everything and put their name on it. Seems like a sensible business decision. But this decision seems sensibler (is that even a word?).

Metallica like to make money, and they make a lot of money, so why would they not put their name on a game based on making more money than your opponent? I can’t believe it took them 30 years to come up with it, seems like a match made in heaven.

I wonder what the street names will be. Will the expensive streets be named after their 80s albums and the shitty ones after St. Anger? Will it have punishments like “The bank just turned you into Jason Newsted and left you with no money!”? I guess time will tell, cause it’s not out yet.

Will I buy it? Of course…

Crucified Barbara will enter the studio

According to Blabbermouth, “Swedish all-girl hard rock band” (I’m puking all ready) Crucified Barbara will enter the studio this summer to begin recording its third full-length album for a late 2011 release.

Upon hearing this news, I have just a few questions. One, who the fuck is Barbara and why was she crucified? Is she like Jesus? Should I care? And finally, is the above picture enough to make me want to check out this band? I have no idea.

Jasta describes his songs

I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “I wonder what Jamey Jasta‘s upcoming solo album is going to sound like?” Wow, it’s like Jamey Jasta is just reading your mind, because guess what he’s gone and done? He’s only gone and done a video in which he offers some song descriptions. Amazing right?

You can check out the video above, but you should have worked that one out for yourselves by now. Geeze, I’m not your mother!

Hey! It’s time for headlines!

Today is June 6th and that means it’s ‘Internatinal Day of Slayer’, a day where dumb/redneck Slayer fans dedicated Slayer fans get heavily intoxicated, listen to Slayer all day and randomly yell “SLAYER” every 10 minutes or so.  So, uh, yeah… SLAYER!!!!

Queensryche recently just released a brand spanking new song titled, ‘Around The World’.  The track comes off their upcoming new album, ‘Dedicated To Chaos’, which will be released on June 28th.  Interesting… Queensryche still make music?  Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy them.  Operation:Mindcrime and Empire are great records.  I’m just surprised they are still around.  I’ve not heard anything new from them in ages.   As usual, you have to “like” the band on Facebook to listen to the track.

Jane’s Addiction > Nirvava.  Well, that’s what Tom Morello basically said.  Tom was inducting Jane’s Addiction into the Guitar Center RockWalk and said

Nirvana often gets credit for being the first ‘alternative’ band to break through, the band that changed music and led rock out of the hair metal wilderness of the ’80s. That’s just not true. It was Jane’s Addicton: inspiring intelligent, furiously rocking and artistically deep.”  The thing is, I don’t really care.

He’s got a point.  The thing is, I don’t really care.  Nirvana died in 1994 and the latest Jane’s Addiction song sounds like this

Opeth, one of the best live bands around, have released a handful of North American dates for their upcoming tour with Katatonia.  Not a big Katatonia fan, but that’s not stopping me from going to see Opeth live for the 4th time.  Tour dates can be found here

My band is better than yours!

That’s what Bruce Dickinson thinks about his band Iron Maiden in comparison to Metallica.

In a recent interview with the UK’s Metal Hammer magazine, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson discusses how the band have managed to stay on top, and how “Iron Maiden are better than Metallica.”

You’ve just got to have a sense of fearlessness,” says Bruce. “I got into trouble for saying that we’re better than Metallica… and, it’s true! They might be bigger than us and they might sell more tickets than us and they might get more gold-plated middle-class bourgeoisie turning up to their shows but they’re not Maiden. I did say it’s a bit of a wind-up. I thought, if I’m going to turn into an asshole, I might as well, you know, go for it!”

I can see Bruce is probably being a bit tongue-in-cheek and just trying to play the asshole (I know I love to too), but I have to agree with him. I love both bands, I really do respect both for what they’ve done for Metal, but Maiden are the superior band in my opinion. Now feel free to flame me.
