Learn to play guitar like Jaymz

I think we can all agree that James Hetfield is one of the best metal guitarists around. He may not be a lead guitarist, but he wrote Master Of Puppets. Enough said. That’s like a ‘get out of a metal argument free card’ or something.

– Metallica did this and that, I hate them now!
– But dude, they wrote Master Of Puppets.
– Damn, you’re right.

Anyway, want to play guitar just like him? It’s possible. You must get his new signature EMG pickups, though. That’s all you need, really… Oh, you also need talent, but that’s a relative term these days (Lady Gaga anyone?).

Make the jump for a teaser clip of the pickups. To be honest, they look badass.

The Clown is on Facebook

Ever wondered what the Clown in Slipknot actually does? Yeah me too. Apparently he bangs the trash cans every once in a while, or something. He’s also on Facebook. Now you can go ‘like’ him and view some new Slipknot photos. I guess that’s his new job… Uploading Slipknot photos.

I haven’t seen them myself, I was too busy playing Farmville.

A (new) Perfect Circle album?

Guys, don’t get too excited, but there MIGHT be a new A Perfect Circle album in the pipeline. I know right? Wow… I’m resisting the urge to jack off (although my mom is in the room, so it would be a little weird) and trying so hard to contain my excitement.

I so can’t wait to listen to more boring guitar twiddling with Maynard whining over the top with some vague, cryptic lyrics. Oh my days.

Get the full story here. I’d write more about the story, but I much prefer making subtle jabs at the band and talking about masturbation. I’m a professional, what can I say.

Job for a Cowboy (pictured on top) and Unearth (pictured beneath) both revealed the artworks of their upcoming releases.

We posted about the first song off Job for a Cowboy’s upcoming EP Gloom just yesterday. Gloom will be released on June 7th.

Unearth’s fifth album Darkness In The Light will be released on July 4th (hey, that’s my birthday!). The album was produced by Killswitch Engage’s Adam D.

Check out both artworks after the jump.

New music streams headlines

Sixx:AM, including Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx, released their second album This Is Gonna Hurt last week. You can stream a song of that album, called ‘Lies Of The Beautiful People,’ here. As always, Youtube is giving me trouble because of where I’m from but honestly, I don’t really care about that song either way.

Deceased’s new album Surreal Overdose hits the stores on May 13th. You can now stream two new songs, ‘The Traumatic’ here and ‘Kindred Assembly’ here.

Samples of All Shall Perish’s (pictured above) fourth album This Is Where It Ends are streaming on Youtube right here. The album is set to be released on July 26th. It actually sounds pretty promising.

And last but not least, Revocation are streaming a new song, off their upcoming album Chaos Of Forms, called ‘Cradle Robber’ on their Facebook page.
